God is never biblically described as being in the sky. So that concept is purely his and not to be taken seriously as a literal description. It merely expresses his infinite contempt for the possibility of the existence of a non-human higher power which he feels forced to deny in order for the universe to remain-ummm-OK by him.

God is never biblically described as being in the sky.

Never is a rather long time

Sorta like how long you have been and - until you dismount for your ass - will continue to be WRONG

Psalm 147:8
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

Acts 2:19
And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

Deuteronomy 33:26
There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

Wow. I just read this thread. There have been very few times in my life that I have laughed this much, and I got dizzy shaking my head at NC's posts.

I am very happy that you begin to use my terminology “HRL”, Social engineering and design, NS, OS, Symmetrical lifestyle, Neoshabaton as optimal freedom, Triresurrection ”.
I wish your understanding the meaning of those words more deeply.

NC, "social engineering" is NOT your term. From Wikipedia:

The term "sociale ingenieurs" was introduced in an essay by the Dutch industrialist J.C. Van Marken in 1894.

First we have to realize this New Lifestyle idea in all democratic high-developed countries with GDP more than $15000.
...snip for brevity...

It's obvious to me that NC has the same problem with numbers that he has with language. First there were his "7 billion" English-speakers and "1500 billion" Chinese-speakers, and now he seems to think that there is a country in the world can survive with a fifteen-thousand-dollar GDP.

Fifty years ago the average USA family from husband, his wife and 3 children had 8 working hours a day and lived according USA life standards.
Today the average USA family from husband, his wife and 1 child has 20 working hours a day and lives according USA life standards.

Here it's unclear whether or not NC is just pulling numbers out of...thin air...or truly doesn't understand them. I'm about as average as they come and I assure the world at large that I do NOT work 20 hours a day.

One would die, if for no other reason than lack of sleep.

Again, I say: wow.

Plenty of wows in this thread for sure. I would add, however, that I think NC meant in his own clumsy way that it takes combined working hours of 20 for family members to maintain the same living standard as once was achieved from a single member working 8. Not to say that it is accurate, but I think that's what he meant, and it's not quite so preposterous that way. It is at least true that more families run on double incomes these days than was once the norm.

I've pulled 20-hour work days. But it was on deployment on a Navy ship, and it only lasted for a couple of weeks, and was inconsistent enough that it was smattered with a few days where I could sleep more than 2-4 hours. Like Elizabeth I says, you'd just be completely non-functional working that much.

Funny; I'd originally read the post to say "20 work hours a week" (I guess because my brain couldn't process such an egregious error) and thought, "if only!"

But now what do we do with those countries with the $15,000 GDP? :p

Zephaniah 3:9
For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

Heh, and if you read the verse immediately prior to the one Radrook quoted, it doesn't sound like there will be many people left to speak said language.

Zep 3:8 said:
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination [is] to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, [even] all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

That would certainly take less time to learn than Hebrew.

I learned it in less than a second as a teenager when my just broken leg was landed on by another football player.

Volume and pitch seem to be the key, and most of the words in the limited vocabulary have four letters.

I heard a bilingual peson say the your native tongue is the one which you first swear in when you hit your thumb with a hammer.
