Loose Change - No Show

You know what, I'm not gonna bother posting in this thread, anymore. All your points are taken. I understand you folks already knew what I was sayin' in my first post, here (although some lurkers might not).

I was not trying to defend their delays. Delays are bad things. I was merely reiterating the too-obvious point that "delays" does not always equal "bad". But, like I said, you already probably knew that. So, ignore my original posts here, if you want.

(And, for the record, there are a lot of ironic things about my user name. In real life, I try to be a nice guy. I usually don't insult people very often.)

Other posters here have put forward the entirely logical suggestion that Avery doesn't want to release his film, because it's so poor that his adoring masses will quickly become un-adoring.

I think it's more subtle than that. It's clear that Dylan Avery wants to be a Real Hollywood Movie Guy, and he's finding it impossible to make a 9-11 conspiracy film that will appease his existing fan base without alienating any Hollywood power types.

Dylan does seem to have a sense for public relations; he's moved away from the kookier claims of the first version of Loose Change, spoken out against no-planers, and had the sense to stay away from the Arizona Holocaust denier conference. (Even after saying "we've made too many promises not to attend.") So he realizes he has to toe the line, content-wise. I just think he's finding it impossible to do.

The lesson here is that you can't build yourself a fanbase among the kooks and then go mainstream. At some point the kooks will think you're a sellout, and the mainstream will think you're still too kooky.

So the best solution for Dylan is to stall, and ride the existing wave as long as possible. But it's losing momentum, fast.
