Just to be clear for first time readers of this forum who may stumble across it just because of the reference to Korey Rowe: Yes, it's true that most of us here don't have a whole lot of respect for the guy. Count me in among that group. That said, the film he's most associated with - Loose Change and it's various variants - is erroneous, misleading, and just plain inaccurate regardless of whether he was busted doing heroin or not. He could be an otherwise faultless citizen with zero criminal issues, and LC would still be erroneous, misleading, and inaccurate.
The point of this thread is social: We bust on gullible people, and get harsher with those who choose to mislead others. It's not lauditory behavior, but yes, we do it. We got to be honest with ourselves about it. However, none of this is a commentary on whether LC is correct or not. Discussion of the filmmaker is still fair game, given his association with the film, but if anyone wants a discussion on the flaws of the film itself, do a search for past threads. LC would be wrong if Rowe were a clean-living, "Just Say No" personality. His arrest may indeed tell you all something about his credibility, and that can indeed be used as one issue with which a person judges the film by, but that is a separate issue from the film's inherent problems. A film is inaccurate regardless of the filmmakers' credibility, but that filmmaking group's credibility in conjunction with its accuracy or inaccuracy can indeed help form your overall judgement of the film.
Just so we're clear on this, for any new reader who's not versed in our subculture here.
