Looking for info on Esther Hicks (aka Abraham)

Beguiling the credulous for profit has been a business model for just about ever. Is this the blueprint for millions you were talking about vszero?

You acheived success due to your skills and your ability to apply them. Just like the rest of us.

Vszero- Oh my. For someone who seems to be siding with Abraham, you are sure don't seem the type. If your law of attraction is correct, you need to be working on focus wheels and wouldn’t it be nice if games to be getting people like Kyra out of your vibration. Not fussing away on discussion boards. Abraham never encourages people to argue about their work. In fact, they would that we are on different vibrations, so there is no use. There is a wonderful video on youtube called, “When Other’s Don’t Get Abraham.” I highly recommend it.

I am a little confused. I have never actually been called out on not having evidence of something I have cited so well. If you would like to look at A New Beginning, I have cited the pages, and you can order it on Amazon right now (used). I also have the Joyous Survival CD, and it is no secret that such a CD exists and that it can be purchased under Special Subjects. They don’t advertise it anymore, as it isn’t Abraham-Hicks’ main focus.

I do not claim to be a qualified researcher, which is why I cite so heavily, so that others may follow in my footsteps and find this material themselves, then come to their own conclusion. Also, they began their dialogues in 1985 (not 1989). As for the John Edward statement, anyone who would like to hear it, I can email them the audio clip. However, who are these other people who have done all this research for me? If you could give me some links, I would be very appreciative.

I am sorry if my disdain for Abraham Hicks has affected you this much. I did not intend this for people who were with Abraham Hicks now, as I understand that they are very committed to the teachings. It was truly intended for people who were looking for more information on the material, and since no voices of dissent are allowed on Abraham fanpages, I was hoping to have a place to voice mine.

I am currently writing an article called “When Abers Attack!” where I show how people who claim to be on the path to positive thinking strike out against voices of dissent. I have not copied your words yet, and I encourage you to delete the posts, if possible. Otherwise, it will be included in said article. At the same time, I understand your passion and conviction for Abraham Hicks.

I am sorry if I have not been able to address all your comments. I tried very hard, though I’ll be honest, at times I skimmed. If I come across something else that I feel I need to respond to, I’ll make sure to add to this.

Before I go, I feel I should thank you for all the attention you have brought to my thread. Maybe there is something to this LOA stuff. You kept giving your attention to me, and this thread just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

For anyone just coming in now, I am still looking for information on Esther and Jerry Hicks for a blog I am writing. If you have anything, or even personal stories, I would love to hear from you. Vszero, I will be more than happy to hear from you still. I think we all get to express ourselves on forums like these, so keep expressing away.

I like this posters style!:)

Are you making money doing what you love?

I am actually, and I didn't need any new age guru to show me the way. It involved ability, study and application.

Wait, maybe I could sell my "secret"............

Contribution is key.

Abraham-Hicks do it exponentially by empowering millions towards self-reliance.

The OP here can't find any dirt on them, yet because they claim to channel non-physcial wisdom in order to publish this empowering information (that is the blueprint to millions of successful people) it is a mission to manufacture dissent?

There a millions of positive stories, all true, about the application of Abraham-Hickses processes and the astonishing positive results.

And the OP says "I voice this because there has been little, if virtually no, critical dissent on Esther Hicks"

Well....

Again, contribution is key.

You are attempting to stifle the contribution that Abraham-Hicks has been doing for decades.

You are contributing nothing.

ps - Anti-contribution.

Millions? Really? Wow! Cool!
Then how can one person with a internet blog change this great truth that millions already know about?

What if Kyra started a blog about how trees were imaginary?
Would you pound your fist then and argue the truth of trees?
Would the trees cease to be because of a internet blog?

After reading such a blog I may choose to step outside and see what's up with the whole tree thing.
I may also read the blog and not give it a second thought.
Either way your desperate grip on this great truth that millions already know about is telling me everything I need to know without taking it any further.

It is you who is gullible to think that she is a quack.

It was my vulnerability that gave me the open receiver necessary to understand her teachings and become the massive success I am today.

What do you do in life? Are you living up the the potential and talent you have?

Are you making money doing what you love?

Because if you are, then I would love to know what success models you adhere to, as I love to study and model all success...

That is interesting. Is it your premise that those who follow the teachings of Hicks will mirror your success? This to me is puzzling because I have always thought that success (especially financial) was a percentage deal limited by how much money is in the game overall. I've thought that this led to competition, luck, and talent as being discriminators so that it wasn't possible to have a single recipe, path or even a way to elevate a large percentage of the population into the category of 'top tier'.

I wonder if you think I have it screwed up?

But suppose you found out that, say, 5% of Hick's followers made it to the top 5% of financial reward. Would you still recommend the methods if you knew that it wasn't going to pay-off for the other 95%?

Well, I'll be fair vszero, since Abraham has been saying for nearly 25 years that when a person releases resistance that their bodies can come into alignment from any illness, if you can find documented, verifiable, medical proof of an AIDs patient who no longer has any traces of the illness in their bodies because of Abraham's work, I would be really impressed and much more willing to see the validity and usefulness of their teachings.

So you found my dis-empowering blog dedicated to taking out Esther and Jerry's work, yet I get a 0 for dirt. I doubt that sincerely. Did you see some of the quotes I object to? For instance, their quote on "receiving from nonphysical" (aka channeling), from 11/10/2007 Orlando, FL:

ABRAHAM: We are suggesting that when you are receiving from source energy, you are not finding the words that have already been written. You are finding new explanation of it....Don't go back and regurgitate what has already been written.

I find it odd that a collection of beings regurgitating catch phrases from old New Thought books and the exact words of William Walker Atkinson's Thought Vibration or Law of Attraction in the Thought World (1906) would say this.

And can you agree with their quote on science from Abraham Hicks' Caribbean Cruise 2010:

ABRAHAM: That's how the scientist's discover new science. They start out with a hypothesis--an idea--and then others believe enough in the idea that they make it true. You see?

Were we really all floating around till Newton convinced us of gravity, then we all got sucked back to the ground? Were Darwin, Einstein, and Bohr just powerful creators who morphed reality as we know it to meet their "vision".

Did you see the one where they mistook Schizophrenia for Multiple Personality Disorder (now Dissociative Identity Disorder)? They didn't ever know the difference.

What about how they were hawking similar motivational materials with Think and Grow Rich, touring the country in a motorhome (as they do now with Abe), giving "business presentations" to add to their Amway distributorship, just before this Abraham experience "mystically happened"?

Also, you suggest in one of your entries that I have "manufactured" evidence against them. I make it very easy to retrace my steps on my blog so that you can find the original source of information.

Once again, if you insist on supporting Abraham's claims, I would like proof--not of their existence (as I understand that is difficult)--but of a miraculous, verifiable AIDs cure or any terminal illness that has been shown to have been exclusively cured through the "releasing of resistance". I will also accept blind given sight, lame walking, elderly growing new sets of teeth, amputees regaining limbs (because they have discussed all of these as being possible in their materials). I don't think that is much to ask if in fact their teachings really work.

I will give you one thing, the Law of Attraction is working for Esther and Jerry Hicks. Not some "universal law" though. The very idea of Law of Attraction that they are selling on the road is making them millions!

Anyone else who would care to see my dis-empowering blog, it can be found with a simple google search for "Abraham Hicks Fraud Kyra". It's called "Abraham Hicks Fraud", because that's what I believe they are.

I've been thinking of beguiling the credulous for profit as a sort of last-ditch career change for ages now. If only I could get rid of this pesky conscience, I'd be lighting the Blessed Candles* and ushering the credulous into my temple of iniquity by the end of next week!

The economy in the US is so bad right now, and I'm so insecure about my future, that I've been considering carving out my conscience with a very sharp melon baller. It takes a lot of honing with a sharp rock to get the melon baller just right, you know. Still, I think it will turn out profitable in the end. I've drawn an X on my skull right above where I estimate the conscience rests. I do hope I don't miss, and scoop out anything useful, you understand. Still, I figure I can give myself a week or two to rest after my operation, and then I can begin beguiling the credulous by the end of the month. Gotta tap those suckers for cash before they get a chance to spend their Christmas loot, right?

*(Dollar Store candle yesterday, one wave of my be-ringed hand over it, and it's a Blessed Candle today. You pay $20.00, and forest green and burnt orange are the only colors I've got, okay, so stop asking!)

Esther Hicks, who's teachings have brought so many of me and my friends dream careers, amazing social networks, financial abundance, health, joy, and the ability to share this abundance with friends, family, homeless people and those with disabilities

Pretty good patter you've got there. I can almost hear you barking it out on an infomercial.

Abraham-Hicks do it exponentially by empowering millions towards self-reliance.
You mean scamming the gullible, desperate and ignorant.

There a millions of positive stories, all true, about the application of Abraham-Hickses processes and the astonishing positive results.
Please show us the legions of changed lives. With verifiable evidence.

I found your dis-empowering blog:

"A critical look at Esther and Jerry Hicks. TO BELIEVERS I am voicing an opinion about Abraham Hicks. I understand that their work may have genuinely benefited your life, and I am in no way trying to take that experience from anyone. I voice this because there has been little, if virtually no, critical dissent on Esther Hicks since she and her husband came forward with their supposed metaphysical experience. I am not claiming that you or anyone else who has listened and benefited from these teachings is crazy."

====

"I voice this because there has been little, if virtually no, critical dissent on Esther Hicks"

So you look for things that nobody complains about and manufacture dissent? That is the mark you are leaving on this world?

You are admitting there is no complaints (well, virtually none, which is your statement, which means nothing worth noting).

You admit that many have thrived from these teachings...

RECAP:
Dirt = virtually 0
Thrivers = me and countless others

Way to go!

You took something that nobody had beef with (a set of teachings)
You took something that many people benefitted from

And peed on it.

Miserable.

One of the reasons that scammers like Hicks get away with their nonsense is that those who buy into it are to embarrassed to complain, and admit they were scammed.

Off topic I know, but this was posted in another discussion about "the universe manifesting things" when The Secret came out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNO97wUlKUk

Strange, when I was on another forum discussing my "experiments" with new age crap and trying to develop psychic powers so I could break Vegas, I had these new agers tell me that the universe was preventing my access to such powers because I was trying to use them for personal gain.

I was going to donate half my proceeds to charity, really, honest, I was.

I left Vegas with nothing but pocket change

Damn universe:mad:

This reminds me of something I hear from Christians. They tell me that God (or Jesus) answers prayers. They say they can pray for something and then it comes to pass. When I ask them about specific things, they sometimes admit that their wishes did not come to pass and then explain that while God answers prayers, sometimes the answer is "No."

If I wonder how someone might tell if the prayer was answered positively or with a 'no', I am told that the only way to discover this is to wait and see what happens.

How is the Law of Attraction or prayer different than just wishing and hoping? The only difference I can see is what agency you choose to give credit.

Of course, I am not limited to just one agent. For this post, I am hoping, wishing, praying, envisioning and demanding from the Universe, Jesus, God and Buddha that vszero reads it and is enlightened to the joys of pragmatism. I suspect all the agents I am invoking will, however, say, "No."

marplots, interesting that you'd mention Buddha

My limited knowledge of Buddhism tells me that the first of the Four Noble Truths, the one that's often cited as saying "all life is suffering" but translates more accurately to "craving is suffering" ( my wording ) would seem at odds with the law of attraction.

Maybe the LOA followers are indeed suffering because they want too much and are looking for a 'quick fix" wrapped up in an inspirational message.

I'll have to give it more thought, but I'm wondering whether the For Noble truths and the Eightfold Path might be used to counter the desires created by the LOA approach.

I truly wish that my studies of eastern philosophy had gone deeper because an Eighfold Path/LOA cage match would be awesome! Although it would probably end in a twisted sweating puddle of sophistry.

The thing I don't understand about the various LOA followers is how they want to place credit for success elsewhere and don't want to admit to having done the work. Why is it considered noble to sit on your butt and have things drop in your lap?

I'd just like to derail long enough to point out that Puddle of Sophistry would be either a great band name or album title.

Wait, maybe I could sell my "secret"............

It seems a law of woo that the amount of work required is directly inverse to the amount of money people will pay you for your secret.

"New agers" can be so ridiculous with their explanations sometimes. We all know Vegas casinos staff their own Law of Attraction experts to manifest abundance for the casinos. These guys are the best, so they can easily out-manifest any curious amateurs ; )
