Looking for challenge

The Atheist, how would you account for proper double-blinding in Mr. Pille's test? Why would it be necessary?
I can't imagine how it's even remotely possible, which is why I stick by my assertion that Chris has no intention of taking a test - he knows damned well that he can't get someone to accept a challenge where some kind of double-blind is impossible. The matter is too subjective. Who's to say that his subject's deformity doesn't allow him to move his spine independently? The whole thing is a joke. I'd suggest that Chris actually believes in the paranormal about as much as I do - he's just a little smart-arse with an agenda. Why do you think he's so determined to apply to [and be turned down by] JREF? If you were making a genuine attempt at a paranormal challenege and were worried about people copying, would you behave the way he has? Letting it out, bit by bit, and now, despite keeping the whole thing very hush-hush, he's nearly let the whole cat out of the bag. Why won't someone copy him now if they would have ten days ago?

Chris just wants to get people talking about him, so that when it becomes apparent that a challenge cannot be undertaken, he can cry "foul".

I can see I'm going to need another BS bag very shortly...

How about this, Chris? We all have energy at our control with which we can bend people at over 20% sideways or upwards without touching them. Perhaps you're worried that terrorists might develop the technique?
:dl:

Mate, another classic! Keep 'em coming!

It would be great if Mr. Wagg would make a thread for me in the now-defunct Challenge Applications forum. I'd be happy to see all relevant information made available in an official thread. I don't see a need to publicize the claim before JREF thinks it should be publicized.

Take your time, mate, I have the rest of my life to look forward to it! :)

JREF apparently disagrees, as both "Chiropractic Healing" and "Therapeutic Touch" are among their list of accepted paranormal phenomena. A 20 degree reduction in spinal curvature might be subjective on Planet You, but I think JREF will be conducting their tests in the real world.

I have suggested doing up to four treatments in a row on different subjects. But I guess you're right, all of their spines could just, in the space of those two hours, decide to switch positions, because you know those scoliotic spines, they never can stay in one position too long, always gotta be movin and dancin around.

Following your logic (and you accuse me of a laughable premise), if I just wanted to call attention to myself, you'd think that I would want to take a test, on the off chance I was able to "con" Randi. If I failed, I could make a big stink about how the test was rigged, yada yada yada. Your scenario doesn't wash.

When logic fails, pull out the big animated gif's.

Well, you're the "expert", Chris, I'm just waiting for you to come up with:

A - an actual claim
B - your test subject list and their qualifications to be "treated"
C - how "success" may be measured

When you've at least put those up and commenced the preliminary testing, should JREF decide your "claim" makes sense, then is the time to worry about logic and defending the "claim". Just because JREF will test "psychic healing" doesn't mean that you are going to be able to establish protocols - that's what the challenge is all about - as well you know - you must have a claim which can actually be tested. I could claim to have an invisible demon sitting on my shoulder which is undetectable by current science. Hard to dispute, but impossible to test for. Kind of like god, really. Trouble is, I suspect your god is money and you're currently worshipping it by adding to the ways you can take some off people with severe medical conditions. As I said early on, nothing new in that. Some of them do clitoridectomies as a sideline.

So far, I've filled three bags and had a bloody good laugh, but constructive detail - zero. You know the saddest part, Chris - if you had an actual medical talent, you would be a multi-millionaire already, you wouldn't be whining around in here. You are full of it, pal.

You assume those things don't or won't exist because I haven't posted them on this thread for your pleasure?

Perhaps you missed where the Challenge administrator stated that my application was received and "in order". That would necessitate an acceptable claim, don't you think?

Your insults would be somewhat justified if you had one shred of evidence that I am trying to deceive anyone. Your bigoted remarks are evidence of nothing except your own ignorance.

Just waiting, thanks.

Come on, Chris, get real. Do you think someone opens the letter, stamps it with a rubber stamp and gets it on? "Received and in order" would mean that it has been received and is filled out correctly. I could do that with a cheque for a billion dollars - it might be correctly filled out and received - won't make it real, though. Nice try, another buzzer, sorry.

The buzzers and the giant emoticons ... they have worn down my spirit. I feel the need to withdraw from the Challenge. I am going to go take up violin. And astral project with AmyWilson. It's true. :)

Mr. Pille, I have received your application and will process it soon. Everything appears to be in order. Jeff Wagg-- JREF

That is indeed good news. Keep us posted on the negotiations.

You know, this **** trys my soul.

Why can't somebody just claim they can move an object by TK and have it tested?

AND TEST IT ALREADY!!!

All the rest of the drama is no better than a couple of 13 year old girls arguing about some boy.

You know what, Chris Pile?

You're so full of a pile of **** that I can't believe that we are even responding to you. Some people are self-delusional. You're just an ******* looking for attention.

Chris -
Some of these posters even ruder than me!
Please excuse our rudeness.

Any answer to my ealier question, ie, why is this treatment not already widely known of?

Lack of practitioners willing to make the effort to convince those who reject its premise of an ambient energy usable for healing, I'd guess.

Most are content to minister to the 'believers'.

My 100 yen same. It's on the fringes of Massage Therapy and involves claims about "an ambient energy."
Also this particular varient on the theme was published in 1999. It's not as well known yet as TT and Reiki.
