Don't put that challange out there because some people can and will pick it up. I've been through some **** but have no problem joking about it, I follow the Jewish logic of "if you don't laugh you cry".

If you want the poster to be more sensitive just ask,because if they are anything like me they very well could get beaten and robed and be joking about it hours later. I was cracking " the score is now 1 to 10 billion" to a mildly racist friend of a friend who tried to use the fact I hit mugged by poc as evidence of the criminal nature of those types.

The Mail are fishing for anything they can get about the victims to try to give the story legs. Presumably this story will run at least until the perpetrators are identified and tracked down, so it needs filler until that happens. In the meantime, any salacious gossip or titillating detail they can buy will be spun into another day's story about the victims. They're lesbians: any relationship history the paper can unearth, however mundane, will be spun to sound as titillating as possible.

These women are not just the victims of a violent attack, their lives have now been fed into the tabloid machine and they're going to suffer a couple of weeks of stories that even they will scarcely recognise as referring to themselves.

Just putting this here so a) I can seem super smart when it is and/or b) as a reminder to not get all het up and diatribaceous on things like media coverage, fetishes, busses, etc until you are sufficiently certain this isn't another of those times that we keep having multiple times a year now.

Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't, but surely the sensible course is to temper one's response in accordance with the solidity of the evidence. Otherwise one could bust a gasket for no reason.

Some suspects have been arrested.

Four teenage boys aged between 15 and 18 have been arrested after a Ryanair flight attendant and her girlfriend were punched and robbed by a gang of men on a London bus when they refused to kiss.

If the ones arrested are the ones who did it, send them to prison.

Agreed that regardless of what their parent company does it does not translate into actions such as these against employees being acceptable.

I was thinking that this was the way for Daily Mail to publish meaningful support for the victims. Right after the Jussie Smollett incident there were friends and family and coworkers who had quotes published in the media. Essentially letters of support, sympathy and hopes for justice. That can't really happen unless these people connect with reporters.
