Life in Jerusalem

Can you help me here...some people seem to be claiming Rome is ruled by the Papacy?

Last time I looked Rome was the Capital of the Italian State....has it changed?

I won't talk much about the rest but this one :

"On the Israeli side, I never heard one negative generalization about Palestinians or Arabs."

Is such an obvious lie that really, I won't bothrer reading the rest.

"I ask again: doesn't it bother you that your views about Israel, Chomsky, etc. so often coincide with those of holocaust deniers and lunatic conspiracy theorists? "

That is actually a logical falacy. Because the view of bad people A coincide with the view of other people B does not make automatically B "bad" by association.

To give you an example, I am pretty sure my view on gravity coincide with the view on gravity from hitler (things fall). That does not make me a Nazi (hello Godwin!).

You would have *first* to prove that the view are bad in itself.

To boot, It is quite clear for a few poster here which have nothing agaisnt Israel existence, but terribly dislike the policy intern and foreign of Israel, that a lot of ultra-fanatic pro "israel" seem to very often conflate the critic of Israel policy with a critic of the country existence or a critic of Israeli themselves. Which remind a lot of conflating critic of USA foreign policy with "hating America".

I hope sometimes you will have a more nuanced news , skeptic. Maybe not now, maybe never, but I can hope.

A case could be argued that the Vatican certainly have an unduly high influence on the Italian intern policy, see for example the italian comic being attacked for making a joke on the pope.

Many of the greatest problems and political disasters in the world are based on the fact that power is given to a leader and then the leader alone decides. Politics would be more stable if all biggest decisions were made by referendum.
And as we all know nobody knew Hamas was a genocidal terrorist group before they were elected...

Exactly so.

Americans are not morally responsible for dropping two A-bombs in Japan, their President is.

Iraqis are not responsible for a bloody war against Iran, Kuwait etc., their leader Saddam was.

Are you sure about this?
