I think he is on the road to victory for another term in the senate whenever that comes up again not for president. The economy and PAlin killed whatever chances he may have had in the first place.

the median household - that means 2 people working a full time job - in the US in 2007 was $50,000. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Household_income_in_the_United_States

So while $250K is not Donald Trump or Bill Gates terrirory by any means
It does represent FIVE times the median household income and puts the person in to the top 10%( I think) of earners in the world.

Let me put it this way: I have a PhD, and am a professor at a very good university in the US. My wife is a veterinarian. We both work full time. Our salaries, combined, are a little more than half of that. And we are very well-to-do.
