Liar of the Year Lies Again

Now she's repeating the "Lie of the Year" on Twitter:

Not only was she called on the lie, but she keeps repeating it.
Who reads her tweets, her supporters. They don't care what she says.
Messages like this are to keep her supporters fed.

Yes, such messages will get out but she doesn't care what people who don't like her think. Her mission at this point is to keep her name on the lips of her supporters.

And we'll be hearing from them on this very thread before to long where these posts will be described as foaming at the mouth and hatred etc.

She never conceded that this particular whopper was a whopper. She insisted that when they removed the language that would mandate coverage for end-of-life counseling sessions (from the Senate version of the bill) that she managed to get the "death-panels" removed.

She and her followers live in a different world.

There's a slight problem with that. Her original description of "death panels" doesn't resemble "end-of-life counseling."

"As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we're saying not just no, but hell no!" Palin wrote.

"The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's ‘death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil."

Oh I know. It's outrageous.

I had a minor surgery a couple of years ago, and every time I talked to anyone at the hospital, they gave me the pamphlet and encouraged me either to meet with a counselor or prepare a living will on my own (and I'm not even yet 50).

It's really something I ought do, but mandating that insurance covers such counseling sessions (note, having such a counseling session would still be purely a matter of choice) is nothing like a "death panel".

At any rate, when they removed this bit of language, Palin claimed that the Senate was going along with her in eliminating the "death panels".

It seems to be her practice to never concede, explain or "walk-back" any lie.
Just reaffirm it by repeating it.
