I have the power to make small objects invisible and levitate them in mid-air. Should I apply for the challenge?

I'm levitating small invisible objects all around you right now... but I'm too quick, you can't grab them!

If you do have that ability, and by challenge you mean the jref challenge, yes of course you should apply for it.

Let me guess - do you also have the ability to render them insensible to taste, touch, hearing, in fact any form of detection whatsoever?

I have the same ability, but I can do it with huge objects.

I just did it to Pluto.

And again.

When you can do it with Jupiter, then call me ;)

I also have that ability.

Pick an object, any object, and I bet you five bucks I can, without ever touching it or causing another to touch it, levitate it in mid-air for at least twenty seconds, using only my willpower. You probably think there is some trick to this so, just to please you, I'll bet another ten bucks that there is no trick to it.

I'll bet you twenty bucks that you'd end up five bucks richer. That's before you pay me the twenty bucks anyway.:)

Generally only the drunk guy to the right or left of you will take the bet(s). Drinks work as well and are the preferred currency.

Right, just you wait until later on this evening.

Then I'll probably get drunk and accept your bet.

It depends.

The Sep/Oct 2004 issue of American Scientist has an entire article (p.428) on diamagnetic Levitation, and there is a picture of a person floating a magnet between his thumb and forefinger. Of course, a full scientific explanation is given.

So it really depends on how you are claiming to be able to levitate these objects, what these objects are, etc.
