Merged Les Stroud's bigfoot show?

Les supposedly had a possible encounter while filming Survivorman in Alaska.
I'm not really into the 'Blair Witch Survivor' (filmed solo), give me Bear in HD. Or Dual Survival, now that's drama.

Bear Grylls is a fake. His shows are entertainment. If you use most of his advice for survival, you probably would wind up dead.

Going to where people claim there have been "Bigfoot" sightings isn't necessarily giving credibility to the legend. I'm guessing there's going to be lots more footage of Stroud hunting for food and of him trying to find shelter than anything about Bigfoot. There will probably be a couple scenes that will delve into the history of the legend, and maybe some footage of Les saying "I just heard a sound, but I don't know what it was. Spooky!"

I'm biased though, since I've always enjoyed Survivorman.

Bigfoot..it feels funny saying that. I guess that I should avoid capitalization.

I think I'm gonna email Les when I get home. Point him over this way.

I'm a Les Stroud fan too. Please post the email address, I'll write also.
He always seemed above all that, but eating bugs, bats, and all that time alone...takes its toll I guess.:D

He had an "experience", a vocalization I believe.

Well, Les Stroud's bigfoot encounter in Alaska is interesting I guess. His matter of fact retelling of it and the impression of the ape sound seem just like many other bigfoot tales. He is within 50 yards of this noise and then does what? Has anyone seen the entire show in which this occurred? And, what did he do after this encounter, simply go to bed? It does seem fortuitous that he is in a book signing tour and I'm sure that Todd Standing will be able to lead him right to a bigfoot in the magical Sylvan Valley.

Les Stroud...More credibilty

Actually the guy who wrote the article is a skeptic and is a pretty good writer.
The point of the story is that most in the field are quite batty and Les is a much better source of accurate information if we are to go there. Since you aren't reading the link, it is a two part special by Stroud, who has spoken twice (as far as I know) on experiences he has had while filming his show that he couldn't explain and could have been something like a Bigfoot. Read the article. It's pretty good

BTW, that Todd Standing being on the show is not true. Not gonna happen

There are two shows that he spoke about his encounter. The second was the Joe Rogan report. What Les said was that it was in between shots and he didnt have his camera running at the time, but wished he had. He didn't see the creature (whatever it was) but it made gorilla like sounds and this was in Alaska. It also scared him pretty bad and to answer your question, he did not sleep well that night.

No, he describes it being in between moving his camera over some giant knocked down tree that he had to crawl over and it was daylight. Not a possible dream being confused as reality.

Yes, I heard his claim. What I'm saying is that in some cases of hypnagogia, the claimant is at first certain he/she was wide awake.

If Stroud has teamed up with Standing, then it would appear that he is as phony as Grylls, and maybe more so.

Either that, or the allure of a better payday has made him accept more questionable associations.

You have to assume this special will be much like his regular series, with an added bonus (for some, who still like to dream a little, me included) that he will keep an eye out for a North American, upright walking, hairy hominid, previously un-discovered by science. Why the hell not I say? This has nothing to do with more money for Les. We as a culture like to get outside of our everyday hum drum routines and taking a week to look for Bigfoot with Les Stroud sounds good to me. It's not like it will be like watching "Ancient Aliens". If he finds nothing, it will be like every other PBS documentary searching for Loch Ness. You don't turn it on if you are not in the mood for something a little different and dare I say fun.

I wasn't aware it was missing.
