Yes, the toy really is being sold by some company, but no, it is NOT endorsed by Lego Group.

It's so funny, and so disgusting, at the same time, I don't know if I should be laughing, or throwing up.

Do they have a little plastic burqa for when he wants to escape?

I don't see the problem. I used to play with toy soldiers, with the green soldiers being the USA and the grey soldiers being the Nazis.

Lego Castles has evil troll warriors the good knights fight.

The Captain America action figure fought the Red Skull action figure.

When Indians were considered enemies, the toy cowboys fought the toy Indians.

Since when are bad guy toys socially horrific? Did kids in the UK not play good guy vs bad guy games?

The toy has some merits- it's very likely to annoy Muslim fundamentalists and 9/11 truthers.

This outrage is silly.

Why don´t LEGO or actionman make a package with huts, terrorists, roadblocks and some pickups/technicals.

Kids have been playing robbers and soldiers for ages, so why not make the figures for it?

Did anyone complain about Counterstrike?

Some people are just overly sensitive, to symbols of contemporary terrorism, I guess.

For the record, I do NOT object to the toy's existence. Though, I can see why some are bothered. It's similar to the reason why stand-up comedians don't make jokes about suicide bombers or cancer or AIDS (well, except really bad ones).

The biggest issue is NOT that it gloifies terrorism, but could serve to undermine the threat. If we treat terrorism like a joke, it might not be taken as seriously as it should be. But, I don't even feel too strongly about that. So, whatever.

Not exactly a point of pride in our history. But, we understand the point.

Meh. Looks a little like Dengar.
I wonder if anyone will buy it under that justification.

I think that might be the same thing. There is no picture in that article, but it is the same company, and similar description, etc.

This outrage is silly.
Silliness is what makes LEGO fun!

LEGO won't, because they're all hauty-tauty-PC. It won't be long before someone fills the void, though.

Counterstrike doesn't have cute, little children on its packaging.

Do Nazi toys treat Nazi's as a joke?

On the other hand, if the terrorists want to make us afraid or they want to think of themselves as macho or glamourous then treating them as a joke could be the right thing to do.

Of course, we are talking about a marginal effect either way.

Ah, good point there.

I wasn't implying we should "act afraid". I was merely suggesting we should act reasonably and responsibly to concepts of terror.
