"Leading Democrat Calls For Obama Voting Fraud Investigation"

"As President Obama travels the country seeking re-election votes for 2012, a growing scandal emerges regarding how his campaign went about collecting votes back in 2008. An ongoing investigation into potentially hundreds of forged signatures used to get Barack Obama on the primary ballot in Indiana during the 2008 election has now prompted calls for a federal investigation into the matter."

"The allegations being leveled against Barack Obama’s 2008 election are significant, and potentially far-reaching should a federal investigation actually be launched. While forged signatures were found on both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton petitions, it appears the forgings were far more considerable in securing Obama’s qualification to be on the primary ballot in Indiana at the time. If word of the forgings had become public knowledge back in 2008, it would have likely been such a significant scandal it might very well have prevented Barack Obama from eventually securing the Democratic Party nomination for President of the United States."

"Now the former Indiana Democratic Party Chair Ann DeLaney is calling for a federal investigation into the voting fraud allegations..."

"As of yet, there has been no official comment from the Obama administration regarding the allegations, despite repeated requests from Indiana and national media."

As an aside, I just looked up the wiki article on the 2008 nomination. I forgot how close it was. While Obama carried more states, Hillary actually got more votes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_(United_States)_presidential_primaries,_2008

Nominee | Barack Obama | Hillary Clinton
Party | Democratic | Democratic
Home state | Illinois | New York
States carried | 29+DC+DA+GU+TC+VI |21+PR+AS
Popular vote | 18,011,877 | 18,223,120
Percentage |47.43% | 47.98%

Hillary won Indiana anyway.

I just knew before I read the OP I was going to say "who" at mention of this "leading Democrat." I suppose a Chair makes her a defacto "leading Democrat" but .... eh, why bother. This is faux journalism at it's best.

Especially since Jude here is citing Ulsterman, the same loon who claimed that a mysterious "White House insider" told him that the killing of Osama Bin Laden was actually the result of the military overriding Obama's orders to the contrary after a coup!

You really have to be an insider and a major policy wonk to know who she is. I didn't, at all, ten minutes ago.

Where the hell do you get her being anything like a TOP-RANKING Democrat?

"As of yet, there has been no official comment from the Obama administration regarding the allegations, despite repeated requests from Indiana and national media."

What media?

It's adorable the way conservatives have so desperately tried to tie Obama to a scandal.

It is also no surprise that JudeBrando cites a hard-core birther as a credible source.

Jude, do you have any evidence to support anything claimed in that article? I suppose it is possible that "Ann DeLaney" actually exists, despite being a "leading Democrat" and yet still not rating a Wikipedia article.

Rather than politics, this is more likely yet another of Jude's conspiracy theories.

eta: Incidentally, I had no idea that Ulsterman was a birther, but given who was citing him, I googled "Ulsterman birth certificate" and, lo, my suspicions were confirmed.

This appears to be the original Fox News story that Ulsterman is building his fictions around.

Here is an additional Fox News story about it.

Fox News, it seems, has been banging this particular drum pretty loudly. Ulsterman merely added his own extra anti-Obama comments, and added the detail that former Indiana Democratic Party Chair Ann DeLaney is asking for an investigation. Which, even if true (I couldn't find any confirmation) is a weirdly irrelevant thing to deem important in this story, especially when (as the first Fox News link above shows) the current Indiana Democratic Party Chair, Dan Parker, told Indiana newspapers a week ago that he supported an investigation.

EDIT: The second Fox News' article's (unsupported) statement that "Nees’ investigation centered on the petitions that put then-senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the ballot. As many as 150 of the names and signatures, it is alleged, were faked. So many, in fact, that the numbers raise questions about whether Obama’s campaign had enough legitimate signatures to qualify for a spot on the ballot" appears to be the source for Ulsterman's claim that this makes Obama's nomination potentially fraudulent that he expanded on in his own story's second paragraph, as quoted by JudeBrando.

The Fox News article mentions that in order to get on the ballot, Obama would have had to get 500 signatures in each of Indiana's nine congressional districts.

Somehow I doubt this would have been an overly burdensome hurdle for the campaign. My guess is a rogue signature gatherer, something no campaign is really immune to.

Okay, Jude,

Let me see if I've got this right. This woman knew of some voter fraud back in 2008, and she just decided, right now, toward the end of Obama's first term, in late 2011, some three or more years later, on the eve of his re-election bid, to bring this up? Aren't you the least bit skeptical, based on the timing?

This smacks of the "swift-boat veterans," who suddenly materialized out of the woodwork, decades after the Viet Nam war, to attack Senator Kerry's war record just as he was running for president.

BTW, did this woman also insist Obama was a secret Muslim born in Kenya?

The South Bend Tribune is the original source and there doesn't seem to be any dispute that signatures were faked.

http://www.southbendtribune.com/sbt-st-joseph-county-democratic-chairman-butch-morgan-resigns-20111017,0,4323498.story

[State Democratic Chair, Dan] Parker, said Monday that state Democrats continue to support the investigation "to determine how this isolated incident occurred and hold anyone involved accountable.

[Indiana Republican Chairman Eric] Holcomb challenged Parker's characterization of the petition issue.

The St. Joseph county prosecutor(his own name appears twice on the Clinton petition) is investigating. Holcomb has asked the U.S. DOJ to investigate. As far as I can tell, no Democrat has called for a federal investigation.

Related Tribune articles here.

And yes, Ann DeLaney does exist. She's a regular panelist on Indiana Week in Review and former Indiana Democratic Chair.

At least Clinton was considerate enough to give them this blowjob thing excuse. Obama, on the other hand, is being obstructionist as ever...

GAH! Get those figures away. Don't you know such facts will completely screw up the conservative narrative of Obama as the "Anointed One?" How are they going to keep up the myth that Liberals saw him as a "Messiah" if actual facts get brought out?

:D He stubbornly refuses to cooperate with their pointless shenanigans. The President of "No".

He also stubbornly refuses to get caught up in a scandal for their sake. If only he had some illegitimate child, preferably with a white woman, or maybe a speeding ticket from 20 years back or something.
