I liked this part:
Typographical Errors

Adjustments have been made to resolve minor typographical errors in spelling, wording, and punctuation, restoring earlier readings of the text and maintaining the fidelity and integrity of the scriptures.

I assume "restoring earlier readings" means putting it back the way it was because earlier changes needed, well, changing, and "maintaining the fidelity and integrity" means making arbitrary changes to the Word of GodTM for political or societal reasons.

It is really great how Absolute Truth can be so flexible.

We've always been at war with Eastasia.

That's a bit cynical. The BofM was first published in 1830. Do you really think that in 180 years the Church, run by god through his profit, could perfect the most correct book ever written? Have some patience and give it a few hundred years more. God will eventually get the most correct book right.

that's sarcasm btw

Ok, you are right, of course. I am ashamed.

I'll bet they are working towards a final edition just in time for the bicentennial! Wouldn't that be exciting. 2030, Salt Lake City. We can have the Mormon Tabernacle Choir regaling us with their renditions of Al Jolson's greatest hits. It would be swell if Jesus himself (hisself? -- he was a bit dark skinned, after all) could make a cameo appearance, and I think James Randi would be a good choice for stage magician to pull autographed copies from a top hat as the big finale.

I like the way you think. :)
