My supposed special gift? Huh, you're either calling me out as a liar. Or you're saying that God made a mistake when my stake patriarch gave me my patriarchial blessing. Which one is it? FWIW, you'll lose if you say I'm not LDS. :D

As far as my marriage to Pup? It was love at first sight. It was a first marriage for both of us yet we were in our late 20s. We've been married over 20 years, have a super relationship. He's been a great supporter of my beliefs, put up with going to church with me for over a year (attending all three sessions) each time, just because I didn't want to drive that far by myself, and he's volunteered to help the church during service days. He's a great guy, and one who's hard to find in today's world. It is indeed a blessing to be his wife.

Beautifully put!

Interesting that your supposed special gift and professed "LDS faith" led you to marry a Non Christian.
Hmmmm.....

KJV 1 Corinthians 13 said:
1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Nominated for awesomeness. :)

Thank you for your courteous request Agatha :)
I fail to understand what difference where the words are placed, could possibly make... if presumably the person concerned is able to read (or hear) both the words at the top and the words at the bottom, of a page. There is usually no flow of consecutive thoughts or any sense of continuity to be found on the forum.

You are not a very kind and thoughtful person, are you?

I'm thinking to whole point of this exercise is to see how irritated she can make us by putting her fingers in her ears and humming really loudly.

That's what getting religion will do to you. A warning to us all.

Agatha, As I previously posted some time back. If one is checking through past posts of a particular poster, having those posts below the quote makes this a laborious task, whereas if at the top then each individual post does not have to be opened. So much easier, and a lot less time consuming.
I got to this particular party late today, but I'll be the first to say that you of course may post however you wish; it will not be without consequence as I and hopefully others will be reporting your posts for rule six violations.

This will truly be unfortunate as there is no need to involve moderators in such a simple request yet your thoughtlessness and rudeness towards others on this forum will demand it.

Ultimately, maybe your banning from JREF is what you seek? This is a rhetorical question, by the way. I don't really care what your reasons are for what you do. All I care is that you stop being disruptive if you're truly sincere with any desire to have a conversation.

I think some people have that whole "blessed are those who suffer for righteousness sake" thing going on. When persecution for said righteousness is not forthcoming they seek it out. Sometimes it takes some prompting to get the persecution going.

Christian kindness and thoughtfulness going full blast yet again!

She really puts the OMG into religion.

I haven't read every single post in this thread, but certainly many.......
and back on page 23.........
I 'warned' about this thing becoming circular - and a deadend - and going to 43 pages.

Which it has exceeded. I was wrong. And I admit that............
I think this has been a very informative thread.

And people have popped in who weren't there in the beginning.
And hearing RandFan talk about his experiences. etc. etc.

I think most of us agree that religion is the most powerful drug on the face of the Earth.

And many people throughout history have yielded it with much that leaves to be desired.

But on the flipside there are many who have used it as a tool to help other human beings.
I have known many of them.

And I don't like to sit in judgement.

And it is easy to take potshots at Janadele. She was the one who actually started this thread.

But I am not going to talk out of both sides of my mouth.

I am not going to criticize her for her so-called faults and at the same time jump all over her and stick in the knife.

And I am certainly not going to judge her life and character from an overheated
internet chatter thread here on the Randi Forum.

Anyway. I love you all and I send my greetings to ya and also over to Australia and Janadele...

Then you'll excuse the rest of us while we judge the character of her posts.

A very good question. I often ask Christians here if they believe that the Hindu pantheon of gods exist, but have yet to receive a straight answer.

Is there some kind of Christian PC about other religions nowadays? The Christians used to get on their hind legs to condemn heathen gods. Didn't the Christian god have something to say about other gods? Either the Christian god is the only god that exists or he isn't. Why can't I get a straight answer from a Christian about this?
