Both were moral men and Prophets of God.
Odd that a so called prophet of god would say disgusting and racist things.

Brigham Young's Speech on Slavery, Blacks, and the Priesthood

Brigham Young said:
I tell you, this people that are commonly called negroes are the children of old Cain. I know they are, I know that they cannot bear rule in the priesthood, for the curse on them was to remain upon them, until the residue of the posterity of Michal and his wife receive the blessings, the seed of Cain would have received had they not been cursed
How would you like it if someone said you were cursed? How do Mormons like it when someone makes sweeping disparaging remarks about them? What young said is not only idiotic, it's evil.

Please. They were neither of those things unless god as a bigger sicko than either of the two perverts you follow. Smith was a con man who liked lots of sex with different women and Young was a complete pervert. Why do you follow the teaching of miscreants like these?

So dark skin is a curse from God?

I'm going to be charitable and assume that your reluctance to address this issue stems from your awareness that it is appallingly racist and downright immoral to assert that dark skin is a punishment from God. This suggests to me that even you recognize problems with the Book of Mormon and that you simply refuse to acknowledge them. We aren't the ones with our eyes closed.

If you consider an unapologetic, disgusting racist like Brigham Young to be "moral" and a "prophet of God," it says a lot about your faith.

None of it very good, I'm afraid.

What difference does it make what a Prophet of God proclaims, or what is decreed by Eternal Law, to those who have no concept, understanding or belief... it is really none of their concern nor business.

There are no prophets of god so your point is pointless.

Then there is Kimball. I idolized the man. But the following bit of nonsense had a profound effect on me when I began to question my belief in Mormonism:

At the October 1960 LDS Church Conference, Spencer Kimball utilized 2 Nephi 30:6 when he stated how the Indians "are fast becoming a white and delightsome people." He said, "The [Indian] children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation" (Improvement Era, December 1960, pp. 922-3).
There is nothing more racist. Kimball was not an evil man. He had no evil intent toward native Americans. He was just ignorant of facts. The mouthpiece of god was uttering racist claptrap even if he didn't think it was racist claptrap.

I could not understand how a god who loves his children, including Native Americans, wouldn't whisper into brother Kimball's ear and tell him to shut up. That people ought not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character (MLK).

I think Mormons are happy that the Church no longer prohibits blacks from holding the priesthood, but let's be very clear, the Mormon Church has never come to terms with their racist past. They've never owned up to it and said it was wrong and apologized. The Mormon church has perpetrated an evil and it ought to admit it and apologize.

When asked why it took so long to end the racist practice in the Mormon Church Hinkley, the mouthpiece of the living god, the prophet seer and revelator could only say, "I don't know".

Yes, you heard right, he did say "those people" when referring to black people.

Neither are the mindless copy/paste spammings you post and yet you continue to post them at people who have no concern or business with them. Hypocrisy much?

To quote Marley, "mankind is my business". JREF is here, in large part, to expose lies and frauds.

But here's the thing, why would the mouthpiece of god say ignorant, racist and hateful things. Is god ignorant, racist and hateful?

If anyone who spoke on my behalf said something racists the relationship would be terminated immediately.

That does rather invite the question of why you thought anyone on a skeptic's board would be interested, then.

There is no issue to address.

So, then, in your opinion, when did the "Eve" and "Adam" of this universe exist?

And, in your opinion, when did the "Global Flood" of this universe take place?

And, in your opinion, where may the "International Internet Laws" that, in your opinion have been violated, be found?

Sounds like the religious claptrap that churches in Canada used to justify their treatment of aboriginal people in residential schools. It's shameful.

Why are you here, then?

Then what are you doing here?

Yes, it is. If someone is telling me something is true, then it is my concern if that "truth" says horribly racist things and denigrates millions of innocent people out of ignorance and bigotry. I find your evasions regarding the hateful racism of those whom you proclaim to be prophets of god to be cowardly and dishonest. Either you share the racist views of the founders of Mormonism, or you think that they were wrong. But don't tell me that something is true and then tell me it is none of my business if I point out something uncomfortable about your "truth".
