I have seen a Monkey in Northern California. I am a knower.

I was at North Beach Restaurant, checking out the Nitrate-free proscuitto, I snapped a picture, and didn't think anything about it, until I was looking through the photos and ....

This definitely merits further analysis.

" SweatyYeti or Bill Munns would be my vote for looking at this. "

cracks me up everytime I see that signature :)

Yeah, I had a spray-the-monitor moment when I read it on the BFF.
I don't know which one of them should be more insulted!

Chris why is the resolution different?

PICT0042UECOPY is supposedly the full resolution image. It's 3840X2880 2.1MB

PIC42COPY is supposedly the lightened version. It's 4334X2880 3.6MB

Sorry I missed this one. The lightened pic has a larger file size because it has been lightened by Vreveal software. Of course if you have a better program you can use the original copy and simply lighten it.

It was lightened only. I think I used the "fill light" feature on the Vreveal software. Probably why the file is larger.

Well, in about an hour I'm off for a weekend of squatchin' or as most of you would call it, camping.

I'm going back to the location where I had me thermal sighting back in 2009. Here is what it looks like:

As you can see, it's really thick up there and the squatches can get really close to the camp without us seeing them. I will be searching for "evidence" and will let you know what I find. Wish me luck.

They look like a colon?

The punctuation mark?

I'm back from my weekend trip and have something I would like to discuss. I've attached two pictures (hope I've done it correctly) from a deer kill we found deep in a sphagnum moss bog.

I would categorize these images as spiral fractures of both the hind legs. Spiral fractures are defined as: occurring when torque is applied along the axis of a bone. While torsional forces are being applied along the parallel axis of a bone, planes perpendicular to this axis are not affected. Tension is exerted upon one part of the bone, while compressive forces are exerted upon the other. When these forces have exceeded the limit tolerable by the bone, fracture occurs.

The current identified large and medium carnivores in northern Minnesota are black bear, mountain lion, wolf, coyote, fisher, fox, lynx and bobcat.

Two questions:
1. Does this appear to be spiral fractures?
2. If yes, what species in the above list uses that method for killing deer?

Just to be clear, I'm not making any claims as to what killed this deer. I do not know and was not there when it happened. I am simply posing questions and am truly interested in reading the responses.
Thank you.

You left out automobiles which are major carnivores of deer and their feeding method would seem to resemble what we see in your photographs. Occasionally a mammal carnivore from your list will steal the kill of a vehicle and take the carcass or parts to wherever it pleases. The car or truck goes hungry until it makes another kill.

Since you weren't there when it happened how can you be so certain that the deer was killed? It could have been old, or tripped and broke one of its legs, unable to run it simply starved to death. Scavengers may have shown up. Very sloppy of you to categorically state that the deer was killed. Not exactly using the scientific method are you?

Where is the rest of the deer?

The rest of the bones were all in about a 10 foot radius of these bones.

Awesome, I will read the entire document when I get them time.

Good point. These bones were found about 3 miles from the nearest main road, in a very deep bog, so I don't think that is a possibility in this case.

NL,

What is your background in forensics, that enables you to give a credible opinion regarding spiral fractures ?

Did you bag those deer remains to have them analyzed for foreign DNA ?

PS..

Was finally able to see the picture you posted earlier..

I see what you mean about remote.. reminds me of this place I visited a while back..

It is 100% possible that this deer was hit by a vehicle. When "I don't think so..." comes from a Bigfoot believer we have to be skeptical of their thoughts. You are not simply a normal curious person.
