That's really sad, and scary at the same time to think one's mind is capable of betraying the individual in such a way.
It's sorta like being a long-time Chicago Cubs fan.

my pet theory is that most that have sightings fall along a spectrum for Disassociative Identity Disorder or DID:
The "alters" or different identities
There has never been a documented case of multiple personalities. However, since this is the bigfoot thread, perhaps there are bigfoot with DID.
No, it isn't though. It's not a good metaphor because they THINK they saw it, and it was different in as many ways as it was similar. I know you're frustrated by the idiocy shown on BFF, and that is understandable. But if you use sloppy metaphors to try and make them out to be idiots, it doesn't help.
You can't argue with fools like DWA, You can't argue with them because they don't have arguments to begin with. You can expose their illogicality in the sure knowledge that they will, while knowing they are wrong, change the subject and pretend they are not wrong with some cracker barrel idiocy that appeals to those even more stupid than them But don't tar everyone with the same brush, and try not to laugh at people who are just plain stupid, I think that is beneath you. It's not beneath a lot of people on this forum, many of whom get off on a sense of superiority over others for not believing in fairies and come here to be simply to be in the majority and bully. But it is beneath you.
The only problem with this theory is that DID does not exist. There has never been anyone with multiple personalities.
The original famous case, The Three Faces of Eve, was copied from the fiction novel, The Bird's Nest. This was done by a competing movie studio that wanted an endorsement from psychiatrists so that they could claim that their movie was based on a true story (which is why you've never heard of the movie, "The Bird's Nest"). The second famous case, Sybil, was also fiction. There has never been a documented case of multiple personalities. However, since this is the bigfoot thread, perhaps there are bigfoot with DID.

This whole thing is a joke, right?
I think that suggesting a disassociative disorder has anything to do with bigfoot sightings smacks of bf apologetics.LOLOLOL....but what Jerrywayne posted kind of backs up what I was guessing at. Most Dissociatives lack depth perception, it might explain why they see bigfoot in every blob of dark shadow.
Those cases were sensationalized and overblown, but the disorder does exist in varying degrees.

Then the thought occurred to me: what if this guy is really a satirist? He posts his pictures of no Bigfoot on Meldrum's Facebook page and says "hey, here is my latest.....see the big one spit and the little one yawn?" Maybe he is just parodying the whole Bigfoot researcher scene with his pictures and videos and his act flies right over the head of Bigfooters.
Now wouldn't that be a riot.

To suggest that habituators are projecting alter egos, rather than merely telling lies, is just absurd.
That just makes them convincing liars. No, not if you ever met any of these footers in person, you might develop a different opinion after that.
