Merged Lancet, 12 yrs on, withdraws article linking vacines & Autism

I thought that this study had already been retracted. Its good see this on the front page of CNN but the interview was totally lame in that they mention other studies that confirm the notion that vaccines cause autism without being specific and not mentioning at all the other studies that confirm no link
 
Can't wait for the reaction of renown Medical Expert Jenny McCarthy to this.....
 
Unfortunately, the retraction won't matter to people whose rationale is simply, "I know what's best for my kid." This turns it from a scientific argument (where the correct position is abundantly clear) to a political one.
 
Well Jenny's site, Generation Rescue is predictably banal, apologist and of course, scientifically illiterate with their attempt at some damage control. But this was written before the Lancet bombshell though. I doubt they would grasp the ramifications of that however, nor would it even matter if they could.

A couple years ago, many (all?) of the researchers who had put their names on the study with Wakefield withdrew their names. You'd think that would have been a clue to the Lancet publishers. Apparently not.

The anti-vaxer crowd moved on from this long ago. I doubt it will have any impact on that group.

First it was the MMR.
Then it was the Thimerosal mercury.
Then it was too many vaccines in a single shot.
And now they've moved on to adjuvants.

With new research confirming no connection, the goal post is reset.

Next up is dihydrogen monoxide, I believe. Nasty, evil chemical. And injected "straight into the bloodstream" too, I hear.

That is one nasty chemical. I wouldn't be surprised if it was linked to autism. I've read reports that it's been found in every cancerous tumor to date. Funny that they would go after poor old Wakefield and leave this molecule unbanned. :boggled:

In 2009, The Sunday Times reported that Wakefield had manipulated patient data and misreported results in his 1998 paper, creating the appearance of a link with autism. A special court convened in the United States to review claims under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program ruled on 12 February 2009 that parents of autistic children are not entitled to compensation in their contention that certain vaccines caused autism in their children. The Lancet fully retracted the 1998 paper on 2 February 2010.

Ironically....... I've seen people claim that distilled water causes damage not realizing that the water in vaccines is no longer distilled.
