LA Skeptic Gathering

It was a great pleasure to meet you all.

My wife and I had a great time. My wife is considering making her first post to personally thank you all, we'll have to wait and see if that actually happens.

Dave

This would be high praise, indeed.

And I have to echo Electric Monk. Renata was extremely brave in going to the Body Worlds exhibit. We tried, but we couldn't find anything to pick on her for. The exhibit didn't even make her ill. In fact, hardly even ill at ease, aside from one display that, for some reason, had a hat.

Hey, guys - I didn't know you were going to go to Body Worlds. I am planning to go myself (I come from a medical family and find it interesting).

I hope Mrs. davefoc will post - it was great meeting her. We definitely have to get together again and talk more. It was so much fun, and I didn't even get to spend the rest of the day with you guys. Oh well, there will me a next time!

Yeah. I was sorry to see you leave so early. You even missed the chocolate :( But there's always next time...

As far as bodyworlds, it was very cool, but it seemed a lot more art than science. Still well worth seeing.

Damn, not only did I miss meeting you all (and dimsum) but I missed a chance to go to Body Worlds too? *sob*

I'm glad you guys had a blast, and am sorry I couldn't make it. Hopefully next time! :D

I so enjoyed the get together. A big hug and thank you to RWald, Loon, Renata, the soon-to-be forum member :D, Davefoc, Electric Monk and MLynn. You are all wonderful people and I was honored to meet you. (Or see you again, in the case of Renata and Electric Monk)

The Body Worlds exhibit is extremely educational but very graphic. I suggest that anyone who has recently lost someone they were close to, due to a disease, or any woman who has had a miscarriage, think twice about seeing the exhibit. You will see very graphically how specific diseases affect your organs. There are also fetuses who died prematurely. It's very sad.

I think RSLancaster is right - we have to do something besides Chinese food next time. But I want you all to know that it's Electric Monk's fault that we doubled up on the Chinese. He says he is sick of burgers. WTF? How can any red-blooded American be sick of burgers? :con2: That's unpatriotic. Oh, and Renata was not as bad as she claimed re: slobbering over the dimsum carts. I'll just leave it at that. And for any believers out there who still think that skeptics are boring, unimaginative people, incapable of being playful -- we provided a mountain of evidence on Saturday showing otherwise!!!

P.S. And thank you for your words of comfort on Saturday. It was much appreciated.

Line 38 ate my long, eloquent post last night.

To summarize- it was great, lets do it again!! :D

As you well know, I'm a grey/green-blooded Venusian, and I care not for your pitiful human politics, nor for your breaded cow-patties. :nope:
