• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.
I've gone through some rough times due to lack of sleep, but at no point did it ever occur to me that the solution was headbanging on a street corner in my birthday suit.

Kony director not on drugs or alcohol:

Apparently this is normal behavior.

We thought a few thousand people would see the film, but in less than a week, millions of people around the world saw it. While that attention was great for raising awareness about Joseph Kony, it also brought a lot of attention to Jason—and, because of how personal the film is, many of the attacks against it were also very personal, and Jason took them very hard

What's funny is that the Kony video was all about drawing a lot of attention to the matter. Millions of people watching is exactly what he claims to have wanted.

Also, people criticized the content of the video for the most part. Now people are directly making fun of him personally based on his behavior.

Huh? What's bizarre? What am I missing here?

The link I provided had some clips, that for bring about Uganda, have an awful lot of Russell instead. Which is odd. There were also other videos that highlight the Glee-like organization/summer camp, and the weird manipulative fundraising, the born again nonsense. There's more if you feel like looking around.

And then there's the thing about running around the street nekkid jerking off and vandalizing cars thing.

Oh dear, it appears he is possessed by gay demons in that video.

As queerty.com puts it, "Jason Russell’s Speech At Liberty University Is Gayer Than A Purse Full Of Rainbow-Colored Penises"

Not really that striking in itself, lots of repressed evangelicals with plans to have 11 children out there. But...

Earlier this week, AlterNet reported that some of the group's major donors are linked to anti-gay, evolution-doubting evangelical groups, as well as the author of Uganda's Anti Homosexuality Bill, who has said "even animals are wiser than homosexuals." In 2006, according to AlterNet, Invisible Children gave "special thanks" to the Caster Family Foundation, which happens to be "one of the biggest financial backers of the push for California’s anti-same sex marriage Proposition 8."

I imagine his involvement with the wretched cult of Christianity has really screwed him up mentally in a lot of ways, this one perhaps being the most significant.

eta: A comment I just read sums it all up quite neatly. Of course these claims have not been officially verified.

A retweet from Dan Savage said it best, "@RossWilliamvon @fakedansavage I did youth theatre with the #KONY guy - and this is what happens when you're brainwashed and closeted."

https://twitter.com/#!/RossWilliamvon/status/180810246921531392

the backstory behind this tweet: Jason was living happily as a gay man in West Hollywood before his father drove up and kidnapped him, not even allowing him to take any of his things with him. Jason was then put into straight - therapy and is "no longer gay."
His father, Paul Russell, founded CYT and CCT- a Christian-based theatre group. It's awful, so I don't blame him for going a little crazy. If you were brainwashed into being someone you're not, wouldn't you go a little mad?

and from a comment on another article

his father forced him into straight therapy. Jason lived in west Hollywood before that.
his father founded a theatre group, CYT and CCT in san diego.
anti gay.
after Jason was forced into straight therapy, major drama went down with the company and many left.
it's terrible.
