Point of No Return
Will we vote for the same soothing siren song as our enervated allies?

By Mark Steyn

Across the electric wires, the hum is ceaseless: Give it up, loser. Don’t go down with the ship when it’s swept away by the Obama tsunami. According to newspaper reports, polls show that most people believe newspaper reports claiming that most people believe polls showing that most people have read newspaper reports agreeing that polls show he’s going to win.

Link to the article. :D

Sometimes adjusting to reality can be painful, and you want to lash out, I guess. That's about all I can say for the article.

Having now read the entire piece: I applaud the author for one of the most intricately-woven, exquisitely-festooned strawmen I have ever had the privilege to behold.

Heh, pretty funny. Now what did you just do again? Oh that's right.

Having now read the entire piece:

You decided to make another useless comment! CONGRATULATIONS!
What you got in your signature is pretty funny, too! Reminds me of the Kant Attack Ad:

:D

Oh, this guy is a hoot!
More to the point, the only reason why Belgium has gotten away with being Belgium and Sweden Sweden and Germany Germany this long is because America’s America. The soft comfortable cocoon in which western Europe has dozed this last half-century is girded by cold hard American power.

Yep. Europe is only succeeding because of America. Bunch of dozing slackers. (We won their wars for them too!) This is exactly the sort of penetrating insight and grasp of international politics that one has come to expect from The National Review.

Uh, what he means is that we here spent MUCH less money on our own military so we could waste it on ungrateful East-Germans who'd like to have the Stasi back. At least in the case of Germany.

That's funny... Never heard that here.

There are a lot of Eastern-Germans miffed at the way the reunification happened, in takeover style. But wanting to have the Stasi back? Not that I've heard of.

And calling them ungrateful says more about you than them, I'm afraid...

Please, do tell where the ex-SED party's base is at?

Had Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan been like Helmut Schmidt and Francois Mitterand and Pierre Trudeau and Jimmy Carter, the Soviet empire (notwithstanding its own incompetence) would have survived and the wall would still be standing.

All I took away from the article is Mark Steyn believes Western Europe is comprised entirely of pussies, Democrats, most of all Obama are pussies and conservatives are strong. It's almost as if...I've read this piece before?

Pretty funny article. I love how he call a complete dem majority a "point of no return". A few years ago republicans were enjoying the exact same super majority, and were predicting a republican reign for decades to come. Certainly not the dems fault if their opponent managed to f*kc up that much.

They are really getting desesperate.

Translation: I'm at a loss for rational arguments. Time for panicked mockery!

To be fair, an Obama supporter in this forum called Obama 'My God' yesterday. King Barrack the Benign is actually a demotion for the man.
