KILLTOWN is Banned from Yet ANOTHER site!

Killtown HAS to get himself banned from forums. Every day that goes by without him receiving the fame he desires is a reminder of the paucity of his research. By getting himself banned, he can still pretend that his 'research' :faint: is valid and blame the forum for suppressing it.

Everyone wants to be a General, but no one wants to be a Private and clean out the ****ters.

Sadly, I too was recently banned from ATS. At least it wasn't a <gasp> Public Banning.

I just got the silent cyber-hook for calling some Anarchist Nazoid a "twit" for following me from thread to thread demanding that I answer a question about the pivot momentum of WTC 2 during collapse, regardless what the thread topic was.

I should have taken the TAM approach of dealing with a baiting troll.. i.e. type out a response, wait five minutes, re-read the response then edit BEFORE hitting send...but ya know..Whoops. I sometimes callem' like I see em' -- and a "twit" was he.

I apologise beforehand if this post has deeply offended anyone. :boxedin:

Everyone slips once and a while. I use the approach as often as I can. I tell you, sometimes, it is the fourth edition of a reply that gets sent out. The frustration one can feel with some of these loons, is incredible...

funny you say that spitfire, As I have heard some people in the USA refer to their language as "speaking American"

I am bilingual. I speak English and American.

By the way, this site is owned by the Jews. Not the CIA. I just got a raise. :)

And being a colony is no excuse for spelling the English language incorrectly either!

I was once talking to an American who claimed there was proper English and an alternative spelling which was "British English". I gave him a brief run down of the history of Old, Middle, Early Modern, and Modern English.

Who was it the other day that pointed out that some of the words Brit's consider odd American slang are actually proper original English words that have fallen out of use in Britain?

I get more confused about your country every day.

I was watching the US Open golf tournament yesterday. They put up a graphic showing this year had the most foreign born players of all time. Then they showed the "countries" that were most represented.

Leading of was "The United Kingdom." That was followed by Australia, South Africa, and a few others.

Now, Wikipedia tells me that the UK is comprised of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. So, how does that constitute a "country."

And, while Im at it. Is it England or Great Britain? Why do you guys have all these names for yourselves? :D

That doesn't surprise me, as the majority of American secondary-school students can't even find America on an unmarked map of the world. :(

Link? That sounds like an urban legend.

And, there is a distinct difference between English spoken in the US vs the UK. While there are plenty of different accents here primarily based on geography, much of what you hear from Hollywood (or California in general) and from national broadcasters could be described as typical "American english."

The United Kingdom is a sovereign state, while England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are its constituent countries. The relationship of the UK to its constituent countries can be compared to the former Yugoslavia and its constituent countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, and the others I can't remember).

I think Great Britain is just the name of the island that includes England, Scotland, and Wales (as opposed to the island of Ireland).

I find that a bit hard to believe. There's no way any but the absolute densest of students from my high school were unable to locate the US on a world map. I suppose it might be true in many under-funded inner city schools, though.

Look at it from the 40,000' view; American English and British English are almost parallel to Spanish and Portuguese in the same-yet-different category.
