ug, i dont really have anything new to add to this thread, but i was just flipping on the tv this morning and there is nothing on at 6 am saturdays except infomercials and they had kevin pushing his book, a cd and his newsletter...the co-host that was "interviewing" him, i am pretty sure, was tammy faye (or whatever her name is no, used to be married to jim baker, the evangelist that got into all that trouble years ago)
anyway, just having to vent. this guy has an excellent, textbook sell. he claims he doesnt benefit at all because he isnt recommending drugs (no one ever made money off of selling books, did they?), he plays on peoples paranoia by telling them the doctors and drug co's are all trying to censor him (he even has a piece of paper over the cover of his CD because he claims the FTC threatened to "burn all his books" if he showed the title!!), and he uses just enough bad science (things that sound like common sense, so it makes the listener feel really smart because they think they understand it) to make himself seem authoritative.
it just drives me crazy thinking of all the people out there that are watching it and saying "that makes sense! they dont want us to know about these cures because the drugs and treatments make so much money!"
he even has the gall to say that doctors only learn how to prescribe drugs and cut out parts of your body...and he went off on some irrelevant rant about how congress is allowed to do insider trading on drugs they are making decisions about, etc. he just basically wants to make authorities look bad to boost his credibility...he brought up things that, if true, should be legitimate concerns, but it certainly doesnt mean his statement that "cancer can be cured because all cancers come from a nutrient deficiency in the cells, and akk you do is give the cells that nutrient" is accurate

Saw parts of his interview with Donny Deutsch on CNBC last night. It was very frustrating. Deutsch challenged him at times, but was ultimately very soft on him. My roommate and I were both sitting there asking the aloud - why isn't he roasting this guy?

Worst part: Deutsch asked him if he would feel bad knowing that people died because they refused helpful prescription drugs all because they read his book. His answer was something along the lines of "x amount of people die every year while taking prescription drugs in the proper amounts". How that justifies it, I have no idea.

Deutsch, whom I never really watch, had ample opportunity to really ask some tough questions and demand real answers, but decided against it. It was one time when I was actually wishing the interviewer to be more O'Reilly like.

Thanks for the Smoking Gun URL regarding this creature. It illustrates something that has always really steamed-my-peas.

It wasn't/isn't his/her fault because -
Their hampster died when they were a kid and the parents lied by replacing it with a fake.
They were horribly traumatized by walking in on their grandmother getting out of the bath.
Kids taunted them at school because they wore glasses.
etc., etc., etc.

Here's hoping someone starts a Stop Trudeau site that is as effective as Bob's has been with his Stop Kaz.
