Anyone know anything about this woman?

Allegedly she is well-known for her work with police departments. She has been active on well over 100 cases.

There is a picture of her in front of the many law enforcement badges awarded to her for her assistance. She has even been deputized in two CA counties.

Kathlyn Rhea has been recognized and honored throughout the world for her intutive work with law enforcement agencies and the private sector. She brings over 30 years experience to her clients, applying her detailed psychic focus to a variety of issues, including personal relationships, business, health and crimesolving. She is a member of the Global Intuition Network, a Minister in the Church of Life, and an honorary deputy in two California counties. Her work has been broadcast internationally, and she had published two books on developing and empowering your own intuition.

I suggest you find a police department she claims to have worked with and contact them to ask them if it's true, and whether or not she was actually any help.

Particularly the ones where she claims to have been deputized.

Although it is possible that she worked with police departments in the first few areas of the list (in a wishy washy woo way), I'm betting that there is no evidence of her being any help. The last one (I've underlined) is highly doubtful, so; what Wollery said.

Looking at her website, it seems from this bit:
"Cases involving homicide, missing persons, etc., are typically arranged by the family of the victim or the law enforcement agency involved in the case.

That typically she prays on the gullibility of the victims families, who get her involved, but if she does work with the police on "relationship issues" or in any other 'counselling' role, she may just stick her snout in where it is neither wanted, nor needed.

As she is obviously interested in money:
The initial session costs $300. Kathlyn's services to law enforcement past this point will vary in fee. Please talk to her personally for details."
I'm sure she'd be interested in the MDC, as she is apparently now "semi-retired"... She'd have plenty of time to figure out how she's going to win it.

Why would you presume that any of this information is true (you've basically just quoted her own website)?

I wouldn't put too much stock in the deputization thing. If I were to bet, I would bet it is true, but being deputized is far different from being deputized because of demonstrated psychic abilities. Can't remember the name, but in researching one of Rodney's pet cases years ago I verified that the person in question was actually deputized and did actually go to the location where the missing person was being searched for.

Where the claims fell down was in the details which did not add up to I actually walked straight to the missing person and I did it because I'm psychic.

Swift did an article ("JOHN STOSSEL IS AT IT AGAIN") back in '04. You'll have to scroll down a ways, but here's an excerpt:

"She was involved in the search for Polly Klaas but, although her advice was of no use whatsoever, she has claimed to be the one who helped find Polly and her killer. That's deplorable."

About as pleasant and reliable as S. Browne. Maybe RSL could pick up on this?

Of course, the police in that case did give the psychic, Phil Jordan, credit for finding the missing person: "The leaders of the search, the police and the Tigoa County Search & Rescue gave unqualified credit to Phil Jordan for finding the missing boy. So much so that the Tioga County Sheriff had him sworn in as a Deputy to assist in other cases." See http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106031

I am happy to let people read the two page thread at your link. It will show exactly what I have said here along with what was a repeated occurrence within that thread itself: that despite constant corrections, you continue to obfuscate.

Your quoted statement is factually wrong. One person gave Jordan the credit, and that one person was not a policeman nor was he the sheriff. He was a deputy who made the claim 19 years after the fact when he had an established relationship with the alleged psychic.

And that is all I will say on that case in this thread. Anything else can go in the original to which you linked.

If a psychic was helpful in solving many cases I would expect that information to be all over the Internet. I would also expect adverts for psychics to be in the paper.

Yet this does not happen.

I would also expect banks of psychics assisting The Missing Children's Network. There aren't.

If these police departments had any sense, they'd hire Patrick Jane to help them solve their cases!

Excuse me, Sir, but can you use your psychic abilities to help us find the murderer?

No, but I am very well dressed.

You're hired.
