I think she killed it tonight. I really love the angle that she's a prosecutor and Dump is a predator and career criminal. I know she's nearly 60, so I guess I can't call her young, but it's good to see a candidate with proper energy. And her laugh, her whole jovial demeanour. The trumpkins will use that against her because they're stereotypical playground bullies who hate seeing happiness in others, but I just felt it was such a welcome change from Dump and his ilk's angry, hateful, rhetoric. Republican and Democratic rallies are like night and day.

As for my outlook on the election, I was pretty sure Biden would win, too, for a number of reasons, but Harris entering the stage and having massive support rallying around her really strengthened my belief that the Democrats have got this. Keep at it, Harris. Keep hounding them on Project 2025. Let's win this.
 
She looks good, physically. I had no idea she is almost 60.

Another line of attack, which happened on this forum, is that she isn't "really black" because she had no slave ancestors. So, black people, the next time a racist is coming strong at you, just tell them that you're from Jamaica, they'll leave you alone.........

It's the ADOS thing. The idea that the term "African-American" can only be applied to black people who are descended from black people who were enslaved in the U.S. So being descended from black people who were enslaved in Jamaica doesn't count.

I could see how ADOS works as a sort of cultural definition, but now a bunch of people who are not black or African-American are using it to exclude Harris from having any affiliation with other American black people. Which doesn't make much sense, because racists don't care who enslaved your ancestors, they only care about the color of your skin. And from what I can tell, most black people in America are happy to include Harris as one of their own, just as they were with Obama (who was also not ADOS). The idea that one must be ADOS to be "black" or "African-American" just doesn't seem all that widespread in the African American/Black community.

The modern American conservative/MAGA movement is overall just really weird about mixed race people. For someone like Harris, there is literally no way that she can identify herself that they would find to be acceptable.

I've been told that I'm not really Japanese-American because I act too white by racists all throughout my life. Racists often don't understand what they are saying is racist. And when their white-power is really threatened, their dumb racism gets even dumber.
 
I'm sure the Black community will take it super kindly that a bunch of white people are telling Kamala she isn't black. That should go over really well.
 
The racism is just starting, it is going to get very nasty. White Surpremacy is on the ticket and they don't know how to deal with a black person being the top of their opposition.

Yup, thought she was excellent - factoring in that It's not really my type of speechifying. Full of energy, confident, articulate, some great lines. Very impressive. Got the crowd whipped up way more than Biden could. Let's hope she keeps it up.

Trumpers need to worry about her prosecutor's background, and not about where her ancestors took a crap.
 
Finally, someone with balls, balls not withered into impotence with age, to whip the vile fat ass of the criminal and felon Trump, and to whip the ass of his craven spineless despicable supporters. Biden did good to finally step down and make way for her. She'll deliver.
 
I saw a video of Harris jogging for fitness around 2020, and she looks like she's still in good shape, though probably more importantly she's in a mentally fit state, if we're still separating the two.

Yes, but those on the Trump Train are trying to convince people that they aren't racist while also saying she isn't "black enuf". Then they are wondering why people are calling them racist....

Trump always likes to have it both ways. He blows that dog whistle incessantly, while at the same time saying he's not racist, trying not to make it obvious.

It takes a certain level of intelligence to understand that consistency is a requirement of intellectual honesty. Or, indeed, that intellectual honesty is a thing. Or in Trump's case in particular, that honesty is a thing.

You may as well be speaking to such people in ancient Minoan when you point out inconsistency and hypocrisy: they don't get the underlying concept so they won't recognize violation of it, either.
