Just what the world needs - Another Bigfoot thread

LOL, yeah and I am still having trouble working out who is serious and who is joshing in this thread;

Thanks for the welcome kitakaze :)
You're very welcome, ben.

Historian is serious. He believes what he says and bases much of his claims on anecdotal evidence and at the same time he'll dismiss a hand written note by a former president of the United States refuting his claims about the president. He'll tell you a work of art is an undebunkable photo of bigfoot and when you provide a link to the artist's website and try to get an explanantion all you'll get from historian is the scared turtle routine.

Creekfreak is also serious and offers similar refusals to acknowledge when his claims have been deflated.

If you see a guy with the handle monstro show up, that would be Jon-Erik Beckjord. He's Neal Burgstahler's (historian) paranormal bigfoot idol whom he simultaneously loathes for the complete dwarfing Beckjord still achieves over Neal in the world of bigfootery weirdness.

Everybody else here is either pitying them, mildly amused by them, or reminding them of the emptiness of their quackery.

Oh my god, everytime I read an Historian post I start to hysterically laugh. No more, no more, my stomach is starting to hurt.

On that note..back to the OP; I suppose because "BF" has been getting a lot of visibility on TV lately. Between Discovery Channel and History Channel, you can't throw a rock without hitting some kind of "woo woo" show about it.

Also, I'd guess it is more of an American thing...and easy to "be part of". I mean, when is the last time anyone said they were at the beach and stumbled across part of Atlantis? On the other hand...anyone can walk outside to a wooded area, hear a twig snap, walking, other noises, and claim "it's BF!!".

I've been catching up with the History Channel's Monster Quest series on youtube. AFAIK there have been at least four separate episodes pertaining to bigfoot. I think Locknar makes a good point about the rise and perpetuation of bigfootery. It's accessible, it's spooky, it's at a wooded area near you. I personally refer to bigfootery and it's enthusiasts as Woods and Wildmen (after Dungeons and Dragons). Many of us here who follow the intrigues of bigfootery consider it to be a type of adult role playing game.

Get yourself a membership at the bigfoot enthusiast website of your choice (ex. BFF, MABRC, BFRO, etc.), a decent digital camera, some hiking/camping gear (eccentric headware is a big plus), and when you get deeper in you can start the splurge with the nightvision and such. Proceed to your nearest wooded area and... *gasp* What's this!? This branch broken here. Well let's just document the evidence. My goodness! What is this tree doing across the trail here. A warning to intruders, perhaps? Let's get some shots. Sweet Zombie Jesus!! Is that a pile of rocks!? Ohhh bigfoot, my bigfoot, you are as mysterious as you are stealthy, you magnificent beast. Wait till the everyone sees these.

In triumph proceed to return home, promptly log in, download your images, and share your victories. Receive the commendations on your research efforts with glee. Check your PM's for requests to coordinate a joint expedition. Stand fast with your fellow mavericks and seekers of the higher truth to smite the swine who pointed out your photos of racoon droppings. Seize the day!

Or... you know, there's always CSI reruns.

Nothing becouse you cant all you can do is sit there a critiize what others are doing becouse you cant do it yourself .
No kit noone has proven my picture to a hoax they never will becouse its not .
I still have the sd card if you would like to have it investigated by a real photo expert then find me one .
The burden of proveing its not real in is your hands not mine ,

The appealing thing in regards to BF is that it is the most "reasonable" of all the different woo-subjects.
If wee just for a minute forget all the invincible, interdimensional, orb-transforming nonsense, then we're left with an unknown animal, living somewhere in the north American wilderness.
That's almost not woo at all!;) I mean, at least you doesn't have to contact mediums or read books by Shirley Maclaine:D
Just prepare yourself as if you were going to look for bears, and you're pretty much ready to go BF-hunting.

I do field work/research myself (I'm just looking for aincient artefacts instead of primates:)) so I can easily relate to the whole "going-on-a-mission-thing".
Even if you don't find any big apes, you're still out in the amazing scenery of the wood-lands and mountains.
Hell, I'd go "bigfooting" any day, just for the trip to the wilderness and I'd probaly have a ball.
And be very suprised if I met an ape:jaw-dropp:D

Drop it, Creekfreak!
Your photo has been proven a hoax long ago.

Please think carefully about this, freak, and tell me if you come up with anything. What could one do to prove to the satisfaction of bigfoot enthusiasts such as yourself that no such creatures exist?

Now I'm certainly not going to try and bypass with you the moderated status of discussions involving your photo claims but I would like to hear responses to the posts regarding your hair and blood sample claims. I'm certain that this is not the thread for it and have the distinct feeling that discussion of any claim of yours regarding evidence of bigfoot is supposed to be done in the moderated thread.

That there are dedicated art-weirdos that make crop circles, has got me wondering if there isn't something similar going on with bigfoot?

Going out in the woods to play bigfoot has got to be even more fun then going for a photograph. Though you could get shot. Still, I'd be surprised if someone isn't doing it.

Actually, skeptics do quite a lot in terms of "BF" research; in short they look at the various claims, supporting documentation (ie. evidence), and help to eliminate those that are simply hoaxes or otherwise a waste of time.

A better question would be, what have you done, other then contaminate any potential evidence you may find do to your complete lack of protocols...or make obviously intellectually dishonest claims (such as your photo). YOUR actions have done far more to hurt, or otherwise derail any serious efforts...which is really at the core of what I wrote earlier.

Anyone can go out a proclaim to be a "BF researcher", no special equipment or knowledge required...and then cry foul when their "findings" (using that term loosely) are discounted or otherwise discredited.

If the so called real researchers where doing there jobs lock then I would not have to damage samples dont you get it ?
Why should I be the one studying this damm thing when others get payed to do it allready there nothing but a bunch of bums in my book

I suppose I'd have to ask - buy who's standards are you judging these "professional" (ie. paid) researchers against?

Being one that has made several false or otherwise intellectually dishonest claims on a number of topics, I'd argue this history weakens your credibility.

In any event, I think you would be better served by documenting your concerns and approaching these groups (ie. the paid researchers sponsors). Or, perhaps laying out a well thought out research plan (complete with protocols, etc.) and approach potential sponsors.

Slogging around the swamp, contaminating anything you may find due to your poor/non-existent research methods, only makes you appear as Cletus the Slackjawed Yokel (from The Simpsons).

And don't forget to make a cast of where an elk rested in the mud.

Creek, the only reason anyone mocks any BF researcher is because of the quality, or lack thereof, of the evidence. Take the Skookum cast for example. It has elk hairs in it, and it looks exactly like an elk, yet certain people associated with bigfoot research are still telling anyone who will listen that it is the imprint of a bigfoot.

I'll bet that there isn't a person on this board who wouldn't love to find a bigfoot, or even see some evidence that makes us lean towards believing in the big goof, but to date there none has been presented.

Sorry, CF, but the burden of proof rests on the one making the claim...It is not up to us to disprove your claim, but for YOU to PROVE it, which you have failed to do in an amazingly spectacular manner. You really don't understand how science works, Do you?

See, the magic in the air tonight is that you can just give the clicky arrow thing next to where it says 'historian' in that quoted post a bounce and straight down the rabbit hole you'll go to the entire original post. The one that I'm sparing the waste of re-posting in it's entirety and keeping only what's relevant.

The bonus unlooked for is that I've inadvertantly given you a simulation of the experience of reading a great many of your mystifying posts.

Your right hist he is part of the smear faction they hide behind a computer screen becouse they know they will get there ass kicked in the feild.
You have me at a loss here, freak. What would do the butt kicking in the field? Would it be like a 'Deliverance' from a hillbilly bigfoot fan type thing or would it be like what The Burg says- a well-mannered bigfoot laying you down for your disbelief?

If he came around here talking that trash he would leave a humbled man .
That reminds me, you've said in the past that you could show bigfoot is real to anyone willing to come to your residence in Florida. How would that play out?

Show me a photo expert kit find the best in the county and have them analize the sd card then Ill will beleave you my picture is not real .
But that wont prove bigfoot is not real your going to have to have the hair samples dna tested also .
Then your going to have to explane the 8 foot man beast I walked up on in my back yard good enough to explaine why it was not a bigfoot a bear anit going to get it son it wasent a bear .
You cant explaine that can you the nsa doesent train you for eraseing memory .
Your nothing give up the act
I'm very curious, freak. I asked you to consider what it would take for someone to prove to the satisfaction of bigfoot enthusiasts such as yourself that bigfoot does not exist. Is this your response?

Let's take your claim of blood and hair samples claim. There, in your grasp is a means to possibly contribute to bringing forth reliable evidence of bigfoot. You need only contact Meldrum through the proper channels. Why on Earth would you solicit a skeptic's forum to achieve that?
