Last I read was that it was a seizure for Kennedy and that he's doing all right on the way to the hospital. For Byrd, he was sufficiently upset over this that medical staff saw to him.

But seriously, Spiegel writes that Byrd is doing fine and another report says that Kennedy was annoyed by having to leave the ceremony as well.
