After reading everyone's comments I went back and re-read all of the nominations and I still just cannot see that anything beats
"trying to predict what nature is going to do by calculations is impossible"
.

Its simple, consise, and demonstrably and utterly wrong.

Yet it languishes far behind #6.

[petulant voice]Because nuclear fusion is all sooo sexy and stuff. If you love it so much why don't you marry it? [/petulant voice]

Actually that one was my personal favorite. I guess it's a good thing I don't decide these things outright or else it wouldn't have been popular this month.

I had to go with 6.) I have a soft spot for nonsense by people who don't get physics.

I'm surprised it's doing so poorly; it's easily my second favorite after #6.

I just like the thickened gravity because it reminds me of the late lamented Malcolm.

But the supernatural sun proving the existence of God is just wonderful. The depth of the magical thinking and ignorance is something truly special.

Rolfe.

I actually think this song would really help 6.) understand something...

Actually maybe the entire album Here Comes Science should be required listening of all CTists before I let them talk to me. ;)

My votes go to

#01 - sweet and short and stupid, just the way I like my Stundies in the morning
#04 - reveals a mind optimized with a view to Stundiness
#06 - oh how he dares us: "try to deny this!!!!" uhmmm actually, so easy to deny, duh
#09 - that's Zen. Luv it!
#10 - now we know why CTers never make valid arguments: They just can't, it's a property they didn't receive at birth! Top honours this month.
#16 - so my girl-friend's dietician tells her not to eat noodles so she doesn't become a Chinese. Aha!
#18 - just so that Clayton_Moore gets my vote. More for his monthtime achievements, less so for this particular nom

just checking on the progress and see that my pick is tied for (a rather distant) second.

I will take comfort in that.

frankly 4 and 6 share something. They are both arguements from an anti-science position. 4 takes a Pantheistic approach to attacking science whereas 6 uses a monotheist approach.

My nomination is coming second at the moment. I'm so proud - it's the highest I have ever got to..

Norm

I chose #6 "...how does the sun stay burning when there's no oxygen in space?" ... Because of faulty assumptions?"

You know those pesky assumptions leaking oxygen into sun... :)

What the hell Travis? There were two perfectly good Stundie nominations hilighting my ridiculous assertions, and you didn't pick either for the finals.

I've been to the ball far too many times, not to get asked to dance.

For once, I agree with RedIbis.

He has said a lot of really stupid things here in the CT/911CT forums.
