I am hoping this is the proper Topic to post under (mods feel free to move). Okay, so my mom is relatively desperate for work. Without giving away too much information, she has serious health problems that don't allow her to work physically anymore (tough for a former professional athlete and trainer/massage therapist/teacher). She isn't old enough o qualify for S.S. , and won't make enough through disability to live. She just informed me that she is planning on working for obvious MLM pyramid scam Juice Plus. I have forwarded multiple sources and Reddit threads about the veracity of their claims and their pyramid/ponzi business practices, but she is desperate to find work that, in her words "I can do physically". I fear she is falling into this despite my warnings. Does anyone have any experience with this company or knowledge of a serious, like BOOM-in-your-face debunking that I can track down?

Sorry for the long post, but seriously worried for a very nice (too nice), smart but financially vulnerable woman. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My girlfriend to end all girlfriends got into that. Since it didn't give her any income, she moved onto other MLMs. last I heard she was trying to sell "Pandora Pops." Some people don't get it, even when it fails miserably. In fact, come to think of it, that's the Human condition.

The wonderful woo-woo thing about Juice Plus was the claim that if faithfully used it would prevent disease.

For sure. It is hard for me because I live in another country, so I can't get the face to face to really tell her how it is. She is also so tech un-savvy that she is quoting Amazon reviews to me as proof that it is a solid product. I feel bad for the dupes buying the product, but worse for these 'middle men/women" being used by these guys. A link to a home run hit of a repudiation would be great as, again, I am in a different country than my mom. Prey on the desperate...despicable.

Let me clarify slightly. I can find plenty of info on the, at least, questionable nutritional quality if the product. The problem I am having is finding info on what I expect to be an equally questionable win for the MLDs (mid level distributors) of said product. This is what I REALLY need to put in my moms face. She has another meeting scheduled with a 'rep' on Monday, apparently. I am scared sh!tless for her, but can't afford to get back there without losing my place and job while doing so.

Actually, I give up. Just got this message. Thanks for anyone who bothered to look at this thread. Sorry.

'Thanks. I have taken all this to heart. Good people on both sides, reviewing good and and bad. But you're right,; it's not for me to sell. I will, however, try the product. Believe it or not, it is way cheaper than buying the protein shakes at the supermarket. the problem I have right now is that I eat breakfast and have fruit in the afternoon. But not hungry at all. I need something and this would offer nutrition. My situation is a double edged sword. Hypo thyroid you font feel hungry but you gain weight (all the cells in your body increase in volume). Also, if you are not eating the correct calories, even if you aren't a hypo thyroid person, your body metabolism can slow. This is worth a try for me.

I don't know where you would start, but some corporate call centers don't actually maintain physical offices. Calls to an 800-(or whatever) number are forwarded to the next available agent, who is sitting at home with a dedicated phone and computer. If I needed to work from home, I'd try to find something like that.

If your Mom speaks two or more languages, she might consider a job with the AT and T Language Line.
