The murder in Peru took place exactly five years after Holloway's diappearance. Any significance to this, or just a coincidence?
The Netherlands doesn't have a very encouraging track record where it concerns Dutch citizens who are imprisoned abroad. The consensus at BuZa seems to be: "if you did the crime, serve the time". In short, even if such an agreement is there, i doubt that the dutch government will pursue that actively.Unless Peru has some exchange agreement with The Netherlands. Then he'll get to finish his sentence over here, and he'll be out in a couple of years.
It's high time that this scumbag, who almost certainly had a hand in Natalee Holloway's disappearance, had his head handed to him. Hopefully, this will be it. This clown should get what's coming to him!
It's a shame that it took another girl's death for him to meet up with justice ... those clowns that messed things up in Aruba (IMHO) have blood on their hands as well.

Just like the clowns that screwed up the investigation and let OJ Simpson go free so that he could rob people in their hotel rooms...
(I know ... I know...)
I've been to Vina Del Mar with Patricio. That doesn't mean either of us are involved in this crime. You can't prove anything!
Except they didn't screw up the investigation. Racist jurors decided to play judge.
According to La Republica newspaper, van der Sloot said he broke Stephany Flores' neck after she grabbed his laptop without his permission and found out that he was involved in the disappearance of an American woman.
The paper quoted van der Sloot as saying, "I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life... she didn't have any right..."
Actually the maximum penalty in Peru is 30 years, which doesn't really work for me. I bet he only gets half that, and is out after even less than that.Apparently not, so the worst he has to look forward to is life in a Peruvian prison.
Works for me.
I read somewhere that while peru doesn't have a death penalty they do have a peculiar punishment for extreme wrongdoers. Life without ever seeing the light of day again. That is you live in a special group of cells where there are no windows. The leader of the "Shining Path" got that punishment.Al Capone died in prison after being convicted of tax evasion.
Orenthal J. Simpson is still in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping.
Maybe we'll get lucky again, and Joren van der Sloot will end up serving time for one crime after having evaded justice for others.
Does Peru have a death penalty?
Apparently Shining Path guerrillas are worse than murderers. The maximum penalty for murder is 30 years.I read somewhere that while peru doesn't have a death penalty they do have a peculiar punishment for extreme wrongdoers. His goose is cooked.Joran van der Sloot now a suspect in killing a woman in Peru.
Just breaking news (02 June 2010), not much available.
Peru cops: Holloway suspect now wanted in woman's death.
Seems van der Sloot has a mean streak towards females.
