JONES new paper:Microspheres and Temperatures

Sizzler:

You can c and p anything i have posted all you want on other sites as long as it's quoted in context, ..... and please try to be aware that I write in the face of ongoing changes being made to Jones' Journal papers.

It's hard to hit a moving target.

will do...thanks

Or he could publish it in another journal or even in "whitepaper" form so that he could compete with the tour guide and Rmackey.

The paper's credibility should rest on its own laurels of course and not where it is published.
Ask Jones why he made up thermite 4 years after 9/11 with zero evidence. Is he nuts or just a liar? Why do you support Jones' idiot ideas and you personally can not produce evidence to support them?

You could ask him too. You are on the fence and keep falling in the false information side of that fence.

Sorry to wake you up. But Swing said he emails Jones. I was seeing if he can ask Jones why he made up the lie of thermite 4 years after 9/11. Was Jones in a comma? Why does Jones make up junk about 9/11? Does this mean you can ask Jones? I have written Jones, but when I asked him about his nut case ideas, he never replied. Fetzer on the other hand wrote back, he is insane and thinks if he says something is true it is. I have never seen idiots as stupid and illogical as those in 9/11 truth.

If you have some evidence to support the ideas posted by 9/11 truth and it checks out, I will be happy to retract that they all have nut case ideas, and that they never had or will have evidence to support their are half-baked ideas only ignorant people believe.

Jones' papers imply false conclusions Jones made up out of the blue. I am sorry I can see his papers are false on one reading, and able to take Jones' own citations to debunk him. If you pay taxes in the US, you sent me to schools that are worth over 2 million dollars today; I should be able to see fraud in engineering and science. I do not have to do a dissertation or thesis at the MS or PhD level to see Jones' work is flawed. You state you are a truther in the same post you say you are not. Broken record; the pot calling the kettle black…

Apollo and Mackey;

I just got my account set up at 911blogger. I want Jones to address the questions you raised.

Is it ok if I cut and paste some of your responses? He mentioned that he would be responding to questions around this time.

Be my guest. You may also want to suggest that, perhaps, these questions are the sort of thing that a reviewer, possibly a peer, might think to ask. ;)

I haven't seen any result from him yet of much consequence, but one never knows. Maybe he'll stumble across something interesting.

A curious statement, coming from you. Please list the experts in relevant fields you've contacted since you said you would do so.

They aren't posting my qustions......

Perhaps my title, "questions from JREF" threw them off...

gotta love the slap in the face "tour guide" comment. Then they whine about calling them idiots or truthers....
Not that Mark would mind the label, as it is his job, and I am sure he loves it, but it seems that the truth movement use it when they want to belittle Mark and his abilities.
Shame really...but expected.
TAM:)

TAM, would it belittle you if I addressed you as the good Doctor or Mackey as the rocket scientist? Is that a slap in the face? Is it a sign of respect in your field or Mackey's? If so, why not in the field of tour guides? I'm not sure why you would view his occupation as a belittlement to his research. Why is that? Granted, I and perhaps many others would be more impressed if he had a graduate degree or post-graduate degree from a University or some level of higher education like many folks here. I guess the occupational description of tour guide will have to do.

3bodyproblem,
thank you for indirectly correcting Mortimer. At least one of you have read the paper. And I agree that a larger sample would help Mr. Jones's case.

Crazy Chainsaw
Were you able to verify the contents of your experiments using a scanning-electron-microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (XEDS)?

Speaking as one of "many folks", I'm actually more impressed that the quality of his research is so far superior to that of certain individuals who do have those qualifications.

In a couple instances I was, I sent some to a friend to analyze, I also sent some to Dr. Jones.
I never heard back from the ones that I sent Dr. Jones, and I discarded the spectrum on the spheres because I made the mistake of believing that Dr. Jones was looking for a pure metallic low oxide sphere with high sulfur levels, so anything that did not have a High sulfur peak I discarded.

I did several experiments over Years trying to create something that Dr. Jones did not find, but I managed to create about everything else, Just if the sulfur formed in the sphere, the Crystalline structure prevented true sphere formation. Or at higher temperature the spheres sulfur oxidized to SO2.

PS, Swing Dangler I am not really laughing at Dr. Jones right now, I am laughing at myself for ever believing he found something unusual.

Pyrites just like to be cubes not spheres.

Heat them to high and they oxidize,

Well Swing, if you are stating here for the record that referring to Mark as the "tour guide" was a term of endearment, or as a descriptive only, then fine, I retract any comment you took personally.

How many times have we seen members of the truth movement try to belittle Mark by saying something along the lines of...

"I am suppose to take the word of a Tour Guide!"
"He is just a Tour Guide!"

Or some indignant reference to his work.

Don't play coy, you know for every person in the truth movement who innocently uses the term, there are TEN others who use it in a derogatory fashion, even though I personally feel he has a great job (maybe we could switch sometime).

TAM:)

Oh and PS: I think Mark does have an Degree in English Literature.

FWIW:
Used by the twoofers, it is indeed disparagement--as in "He's only a tour guide"
In reality, a tour guide should be an authority on the area he is guiding. I would want my tour guide to be able to accurately answer questions on the architecture, history, and economics of the area being toured.
In that respect, a "tour guide" must be a good researcher. He must know which sources are reputable, which are not, and which are plain silly.
What it boils down to is that a good tour guide must be expert in information acquisition and retention. That makes him an authority--assuming he is a good guide.
From viewing gravy's work, he is indeed a good guide.
In the words of my farmer Father-in-law-"The laborer is worthy of his hire", or for you Pratchett fans:
"..There are worse things than taking the pulse of a woman..."

I dunno... I think he's pulled the wool over our eyes. One of my first Google hits is Wikipedia:

Mark Roberts... is a famous British streaker who has run naked during several international events...

C'mon Gravy, admit it. You're a runner from Britain, unrestrained by mere social conventions... like clothing...:eye-poppi:D;):p:duck:

Ok, that was mean, but I don't think I'm drunken... not yet...

well if that is the case, perhaps he should pull the wool over something else...lol

Apollo's comments have been posted on 9-11 blogger (finally).

I hope Jones replies.

Bump for Sizzler. Another day's gone by. Which experts have you contacted?

Well, I have been complaining on this thread that Steven Jones is yet to tell us how much of his WTC dust sample is "iron-rich microspheres". In fact I have suggested that all he has said by way of an answer to this question is that "We found an abundance of tiny solidified droplets... (which) were predominately iron-rich."

Now the word abundance is very vague, but it certainly suggests a lot... say more than 25 %.

Well, I have now discovered that SJ has in fact made an estimate of the fraction of microspheres in the WTC dust, so, I STAND CORRECTED!

But what is Jones' estimate?

Well, go to page 78 of his May 2007 JONES article entitled "Revisiting 9/11/2001 - Applying the Scientific Method."

Here we read:

"The mass of the two larger spheres (0.012 g) found in the sample can be used to provide a crude estimate of the fraction of iron-rich spheres in the dust: 0.012/32.1 = 0.04 %"

0.04 % !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is Jones' idea of "an abundance
"!!!!

Apollo. I think you have misquoted Jones here. Isn't he just giving a percent of those two particular spheres? He says, "larger" implying there are "smaller" spheres.

Thus the two largerst spheres are 0.04% of the dust content. It doesn't represent the entire iron content.

Or were you just goofing around?

More importantly, why isn't he giving full iron content percentages rather than just the "two largest one".
