Jonathan Cainer the astrologer

I also love Shakespeare - in fact I've seen 167 productions of his plays - and I think I can safely say I'm neither presumptuous or pretentious. idunno must hang out with some very strange people if he thinks the ability to quote "To be or not to be" is some sort of character defect.

Mind you, I'm an Aquarius so I would say that, wouldn't I?

I love your name. Makes me think of rabbits and strawberries.

Let's make it chocolate rabbits and strawberries. Yummm...

this is what i just read about gemini my ascendant sign.
If you read my post in different threads youll see this is me

[Gemini is], in many ways, an eternal child. His mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful, and always eager for new experiences - and his attention span is often quite brief. He grasps ideas quickly and once his initial curiosity has been satisfied, he wants to go on to something else. He craves frequent change, variety, meeting new situations and people.

"It may be hard for him to decide just where his talents and true vocation lies, for he has a multitude of interests and is loathe to limit himself by concentrating on just one.He is easily distracted by all of the other fascinating possibilities. His curiosity and restlessness propel him into many different experiences in life, and he is willing to taste or try anything once. Doing the same thing over and over again, even it is something he does well, is real drudgery for him.
"He lives in his head a great deal - reading, observing, thinking, spinning ideas around - and needs mental stimulation every bit as much as he needs food and drink. In fact, if he had to choose between a good book or movie and a good lunch, he would very likely choose the former. He has a creative mind and often lives by his wits.
"He is also a very social creature, with a strong need to communicate and to interact with people. He enjoys using and playing with words and has a real flair for getting his ideas across in a clever, interesting, articulate manner. Writing or
speaking are areas he has talent for.

"He also has a rather light and mischievous sense of humor, and often does not take anything too seriously. Though he craves emotional involvement, it is hard for him to achieve it, for he is frequently unwilling to commit himself to anything, to take responsibility, or to limit his personal freedom and mobility.
"His happiness lies in using his creativity and his language skills to communicate something meaningful, to teach, inspire, or bring people together. He has an unbiased mind and can usually offer a fresh, clear, uncluttered perspective. His faults are his lack of constancy and persistence, and his tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.
"He has an extremely active, lively and versatile mind with a multitude of interests and an inexhaustible curiosity about life. He is quick to grasp new concepts and equally quick to lose interest in an idea or project once his curiosity has been satisfied. He likes to taste a little bit of everything -concentration and disciplined study are not his strong points. Mentally restless, he may change jobs or locations frequently, or do work that involves movement, travel, and variety.
"He has a flair for language, playing with words, speaking, writing, or teaching in an entertaining and informative way. He enjoys meeting new people, conversing and learning a little bit about them, and he works well with the public.
"Sales, advertising, communications, journalism, or public relations are good areas for him. His ability to be articulate and to communicate well is one of his greatest strengths."

Obviously, there are parts on this I can't answer, as I don't know you. I've read many of your posts though, and I have to say, I don't really recognise you from this description. I've bolded the parts I disagree with. Others may differ, but again, it's a very subjective description.

Nice...

Also nice to see another Welshie on here...

idunno must hang out with some very strange people if he thinks the ability to quote "To be or not to be" is some sort of character defect.

Somehow I get the impression that idunno doesn't hang out with many people

I read Hamlet, Otelo,Romeo and Juliet and Midnight summers dream. The last one is my favorite.

Sorry I just had to quote that again because it made me laugh. :)

EDIT: It seems that our friend idunno is spanish or possibly portuguese speaking. In Spansh 'Othello' is called 'Otelo' and 'Midsummer Night's Dream' seems to be called 'Midnight Summer's Dream' http://www.teiamoner.com/ang/somniang.htm

So it seems his previous statement is not as retarded as it first sounded.

I will not be one of those who will differ :D

Seems spot on to me...but then again, I'm Thick as a Brick (Jethro Tull).

you hit the nail in the thread. But then, i am a lazy writer and, i didnt mention this cause you probably dony know astrology, but my ascendant ruler, mecury is conjunct Sarturn, which normally causes comunication blocks and slowness in verbal reaction. It all fits.
Thats why i would love to see the tests done to astrologers.
For example there were astrologers who looked at the chart of Marcel Petiot and said he was a nice guy, probably because he has jupiter high inthe sky.
I immediately noticed an intense agression as Petiot has Scorpio rising and theruler Mars is conjunct Pluto. A double agressive Scorpio nature. So either these astrologers were ignorant, or maybe imgood at certain aspects of astrology but not others

the last time i read him was 12 years ago at university

As always, a "after the fact" claim...*sigh*; never the straight answer it seems.

I'm afraid that many American's think 'god' is American.

I think I'll hunt down some Wodehouse and read some Wooster and Jeeves tonight.

I don't think idunno will approve.

Back to Woo Beliefs for $100...

Sorry, but God is a British Gentleman , like Hugh Grant, who was caught with his pants down with Divine Brown. How could it be otherwise??:eye-poppi

Are you telling me that horoscopes need to know the birth time to be accurate.

Does that mean that the Newspaper horoscopes I read each morning and base my love life, financial and work decisions on is not accurate ?

Are the astrologers who provide these all utterly unscrupulous?

its called markleting. First you say something in the newsp then you explain astrology is more than sun sign

About as different from me as it's possible to be: I'm very unsociable, hate parties, meeting new people etc; don't even go abroad for holidays let alone a job; still live in the same town I grew up in and never intend to move; work in IT and have been with the same employer for 19 years; totally committed to my relationship (married with 4 kids and usually described by people as the most happily married man they know). Favourite thing to do with my spare time - stay at home with the family.

So, what star sign do you reckon I am? Yup, Gemini.

Furthermore, my wife is a Capricorn and we were constantly told by believers that our signs are totally incompatible and our relationship wouldn't last 6 weeks...been together 21 years so far and love eachother more than ever.

youre talking about sunsigns. You probably have a more conservative ascendant like taurus, cancer, capricorn, an earth or a fixed sign.check your ascendant at www.astro.com

hang on idunno,

if birth time is so important, and you dont know randi's birthtime then how can you say:

:boggled:

his know 3 pillars have a lot of self element. In this case i dont need hour pillar to know a few things about him
he has the chart of a leader

Of course Cainer will be 100% honest in his answer? Seems to be a no-win proposition. If he says “yes”?

If he says “no”, the follow up question would be “then why did you participate, or not say something…why were you so desperate in trying to prove your reading of Hugh was right given you were lacking this apparently CRITICAL piece of information?”

While you are at it, you should ask Randi the same question (wrt the birth time) as well...and then the follow up "did Cainer object at any time?"
how do i contact Randi?

how did you expect me to claim this before the fact??
The ones who knowastrology certainly know what im talking about.

Just seems as detailed as your reading was, you would have fit that part in as well. I'm sure it was just an oversight, but it does give the "explaination after the fact" apperance.

Similar in nature to the entire Cainer debate; he accepted the conditions and information as provided, yet supporters now claim (after the fact) the test was rigged becaues no birth time was provided....yet have no proof of this being the case.
