Elizabeth Edwards is hardly a helpless appendage here. She stands to gain a lot if she gets to be first lady, as does her husband. As I understand their relationship, they are a team. I admire her recognition of the benefits of the longer view, and her decision to "play hurt" for the Edwards team, and for that matter, for the Democratic Party team. All politics aside, I don't wish this on anyone. Edwards and his wife clearly came to a decision, and he's going to keep moving on his campaign. I think he'd make a better candidate than Hillary, (then again, who wouldn't?), but as to this being played on the sympathy angle, I don't see that happening, or if it's tried, working.
As to Ann Coulter, I thought she should have been gagged ages ago, but that's just me.
That's a lady made of sterner stuff. She's not letting the Big C get her down.
