Query for one and all

Is there enough interest in readers of the JREF forums on the subject of OT7 and OT7 suicides and insanity for me to compile names and numbers on the issue? It would take several hours and I would rather spend that time doing other things, but if there is sufficiant interest I will do the task.

As the old saying goes, "The proofs in the puddin'"
I have noted that verifiable statistics seem to make the folks here on the forum feel warm and fuzzy.

After kicking around holysmoke for a bit...

Myste is HOTT!! If you'd rather spend time with her than look up OT7 sucide rates, I could hardly hold it against you, DP. ;) :p

I'm not sure anyone around here is so unfamiliar with the emotional hell cults put people through that they'd demand that sort of statistic, but thank you for extending the offer. :)

If I cared enough I would support my observation: accept or reject as is one's nature.

You take the time to set up an anti-Scientology website then you take up this cavalier attitude when questioned for evidence?

"If I cared enough I would support my observation"...thankfully not all researchers have this outlook.

To be fair to him it was more of a passing remark than the main topic of conversation. I think we can all agree that Scientology is a particularly bad example of a cult and that the woo-wooism in later OT stages are indeed so barmy that they could well mess with converts mind. Proving how many people died or didin't die as a direct relation to OT8 isn't really changing the main message so proof surely isn't required.

OT7 and OT8 are sold only on Freewinds because they are well-known to drive people insane (a hell of a lot of Scientology customers working on OT7 have gone insane and/or killed themselves).

I thought the main reason for restricting 7 and 8 to the Freewinds was the security issue. After OT3 got stolen, the Scienos got even more paranoid (if that's possible). The possibility of stealing and/or copying the material when it's in that kind of controlled environment is much lower.

Yes we all agree about that stuff. The claim, though, was specific and, if true, quite an outrageous situation. It deserves to be backed up with evidence. Otherwise the anti-CoS crusade starts to look like religious persecution.

Speaking of the navy and the world of make believe...

Hubbard brags about a heroic naval career. Much of what he says is apparently total fiction.

Hubbard's claims
The following document was produced as a result of a request made under the Freedom of Information Act - for which, ironically, the Church of Scientology had campaigned vigorously. It provides a concise summary of L. Ron Hubbard's naval career, showing that in his 4 years and 7 months of active duty, he spent only 4½ months actually aboard a ship; he spent more time in training than at sea. It also shows that he was entitled to only four medals, three of which were awarded to all US service personnel during the war and the fourth of which was awarded to all personnel in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre.
