Rand's books do sell a lot more then L. Ron's so I don't think you can regard them as equally bad. Equating "Battlefield Earth" with "The Fountainhead" seems a bit unfair.

I was about to say one was made into a movie with a AAA+ list actor, Cary Grant, then I thought again of Battlefield Earth.

Thanks for making me think of the Battlefield Earth movie.

(More seriously, she was the talk of the town when that movie was made, unlike being the ongoing joke of the town of L Ron, where Battlefield was practically a vanity-produced movie. It wasn't until Atlas Shrugged was published that religious conservatives like William F. Buckley kicked her to the curb with hate pieces, because she dared sever the link between God and capitalism, justifying it on the nature of man and the right to be free instead.)

According to Nathanael Brandon, she never thought much of Buckley either.
If you are referring to the movie based on the Fountainhead, the actor who played Howard Roark was Gary Cooper .
