At least according to the Vietnamese. Seems like they may only have used enhanced interrogations and stress positions. I suppose they thought they might get some useful information out of him that could help them prevent a bombing and maybe save innocent lives, so you got to think it was probably completely justifiable -- NOT.
Seriously, I wonder what Mr. McCain thinks about this. It has been one of his glories that he has stood up against the use of torture by the U.S. Sadly, our president doesn't sound all that different in explaining what we've been up to than does the Vietnamese Guard.
We should have his courage to not only call it what it is in this country, but we should prosecute those who have engaged in it or authorized it because they commited a crime.
