John Edward - psychic or what?

You might well be surprised by your local priest's views on homosexuality. The last really barn-storming sermon in favour of gay marriage that I heard was from a Roman Catholic priest.

However, you're unlikely to be surprised by his views on contacting spirits. I imagine he'll think it's dangerous stupidity, no matter how many 'protection prayers' or hail Marys you say beforehand.

What gamble did you take? Are you being threatened somehow?

Regarding the readings in candlelight, I know how frightening that can be. Perhaps some day you would like to hear about my Castaneda phase and all my experiences with nasty things, including past and alternate selves. If you agree to also talk about what I later learned concerning self delusion and suggestibility, I would be glad to talk more about it.

I find it...odd...that you are still here, still pushing the same story.
I find it...odd...that you claim to believe in the power of the rosary, and of the efficacy of prayers for the dead, yet seem to feel it is perfectly acceptable to consult psychics and mediums.
I find it...odd...that you can complain about how rudely you have been treated, then tell me that I will never understand the "proof" of life after death because I "choose" not to get it.

I'm sorry you got taken in by a charlatan, although it is nice that in all your charlatan-shopping you finally found one that gave you comfort.

I strongly urge you to take your stories to your priest confessor. There may be some...issues...he can help you address.

Are you not Catholic? You mentioned believing in the power of the Rosary so I assumed you were.

Meh. John Edwards reminds me of my old beater Dodge Stratus. Namely, John Edwards proffesses to be some kind of wizard, and my old car pretended to be a form of reliable transportation.

Both obvious lies that only appear to make sense after a forty-eight hour marathon game of headbricking.

Just for the record, John Edward wrote an entire book on use of the rosary. Thus proving that it's OK in the New Age to be Catholic and contact spirits.

Too bad Robin left. I would have liked to hear about Garrette's experiences too.

It repeatedly amazes me how often such beliefs turn out this way. They not only defy logic, reason, and evidence; they also defy the belief system the believer purportedly follows. And yet it makes not a whit of difference in regard to the belief itself.

You will find, if you open your mind to the possibility, that many (if not most) of the atheists on this site are very familiar with the bible. It seems that reading the book has had the impact of convincing many of them that it is a work of fiction.

Why does the simple fact that many atheists including myself have read the bible fascinating? Do you find it fascinating that I have read von Daniken, although I do not believe any of his nonsense.

To put it simply, one cannot rationally discuss anything without reading the literature and evaluating the evidence. Is that too hard for you to understand?
