Looks like the person Kucinich lost to will run against Joe The Plumber in the fall: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/03/07/joe-the-plumber-wins-gop-primary-in-ohio/?hpt=hp_t2

Joe the not Joe, not a plumber?

That's just filled with win.

Remember when he became a "war correspondent" and had this to say?

"I'll be honest with you. I don't think journalists should be anywhere allowed war. I mean, you guys report where our troops are at. You report what's happening day to day. You make a big deal out of it. I-I think it's asinine. You know, I liked back in World War I and World War II when you'd go to the theater and you'd see your troops on, you know, the screen and everyone would be real excited and happy for'em. Now everyone's got an opinion and wants to downer--and down soldiers. You know, American soldiers or Israeli soldiers. I think media should be abolished from, uh, you know, reporting. You know, war is hell. And if you're gonna sit there and say, 'Well look at this atrocity,' well you don't know the whole story behind it half the time, so I think the media should have no business in it."

But I agree with you about Kucinich. The left wing version of Ron Paul (minus the racist newsletter)

What makes you say he's not a plumber? Or wasn't a plumber?
Depends on who you ask.

Wikipedia said:
"Mr. Wurzelbacher said he works under Al Newell’s license, but according to Ohio building regulations, he must maintain his own license to do plumbing work. He is also not registered to operate as a plumber in Ohio, which means he’s not a plumber."

He lied about a great deal of stuff when presenting himself, like his salary, the taxes he paid, his intention to buy a small business, so it's not a stretch to say that he lied about being a plumber too.

See Tricky's post above regarding him not really being a plumber. Not having a license to perform plumbing work kind of undercuts his claim to Obama that he was in the midst of buying a plumbing business, especially one that was going to net him 250k a year.

What you posted doesn't support the claim that he wasn't a plumber. All it means is that he's not a licensed plumber. Relatively few plumbers are actually licensed, but they work for a licensed plumber. It doesn't make them any less a plumber. Hell, he's the one rodding sewers and crawling under sinks, the guy with the license just sits in the office and collects the money. :p

Gosh, then I'm a plumber too. I've done my share of laying pipe and unplugging drains and draining sewage. If no certification is needed, then anybody who uses a plunger is a plumber.

No, they would be a plungerer.

Which plumbing contractor do you work for? Did you actually understand what I wrote?

Norrell Heating and Air Conditioning. (We did plumbing work too.) I worked there for several summers.

And yes, I understood you. But while a person might do plumbing work and might casually be called "a plumber", that doesn't technically make them one. At the very least, Joe was exaggerating. A lot.

By the way, Julius Erving is not technically a doctor either.

Do you think the guy who comes to your house when you call a plumbing contractor about your clogged sewer has a plumbing license in his name?

Just when I'm ready to give you the benefit of the doubt you come up with this doozy. You still don't get it.

Evidence please.

I know a number of plumbers. They all are licensed as either Apprentices, Journeymen, or Administrators.

Our buddy Joe, apparently wasn't even legal as an apprentice.

If he's in charge and he doesn't have some sort of plumbing certification, then there is something seriously wrong. If something went wrong, I'd be within my rights to sue.

Just when I think you have a sense of humor, you go all Ben Stein on me.

I know plumbers too. It's very hard to get a plumbing license. To get one you first have to work as a plumber for a minimum of 8 years under a licensed plumber, pass an exam, and then get your boss to give you permisson to compete with him. The latter is the hard part.

Plumbers (and electricians) can make big money after retirement selling their licenses for other contractors to pull permits. It's quite lucrative.

Maybe it's different where you live.

He's not in charge. His boss is, and the boss has a license. Even if the boss never steps foot on the job site.
