Jim Fetzer & Conspiracies

Personally, I've come to the conclusion that the Jim Fetzer/DDR connection merits further investigation. Let's look at some facts: the DDR, while it publicly existed and before it was turned into an underground operation with CIA connections, had a national anthem with a text allegedly written by somebody called Johannes R. Becher, and with music by a composer who went by the name of Hanns Eisler. But Hanns is just a colloquial shortened form of Johannes. So both of these people had the first-name initial J., and a German two-syllable last name ending in "-er". Just like Jim Fetzer. What are the odds of three people (if they really are three different people, which remains to be established) who aren't connected in some way having such similar names, and connected so closely to a national symbol like an anthem? Astronomical, in my estimation. Especially since Jim Fetzer purports to be an American, not a German. What's more, the person known as Eissler frequently cooperated with the well-known East-German communist Berthold Brecht.

I'm also beginning to suspect that I myself am part of the DDR conspiracy. Just a week ago, I ordered an item online from a German website. And even though that item is clearly marked as being made by "CARL WALTHER ULM/DO. GERMANY", probably in an attempt to pass it off as a product from West Germany, it was actually shipped from Leipzig, which was part of the DDR. Not only that, but I commented recently, right here on JREF, about the music of J.S. Bach, and admitted to owning many hundreds of recordings of his work. He spent about the last half of his professional life in, yes, Leipzig. And all of his life within the territory of the DDR! Too many coincidences for my liking.

I forgot to add that I also own several dozens of cameras made in Leipzig, or its close surroundings. Many of them made before the DDR came into public existence, and the Nazis were still in power, but some after. My late dad collected them, and quite a few of them were paid for using my Visa card (dad didn't have any need for a credit card except for these occasional mail order purchases, so he used my credit card, with my full agreement of course). So maybe he was part of the DDR conspiracy, too.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am I must be part of a sinister, generations-long conspiracy emanating from the DDR. Just what my mission in this conspiracy is, I have yet to figure out.

ETA: The DDR anthem. "Auferstanden aus Ruinen" (which is an easy search term to find it on Youtube) was actually one of the world's better national anthems, IMO, musically and textually. It's almost sad it no longer has a country to go with it. It was also pretty unique in being mostly banned from being sung in the DDR. The text became politically incorrect shortly after it was adopted, and it was almost only performed in purely instrumental versions.

My dad toured Yurp, and brought several souvenirs from the Reich.. a couple of cameras, shotguns, pistols, uniforms, flags..
Donated most of it to the NJ 103rd National Guard, one of the first units called up and sent overseas to prepare for the upcoming tour.
When he returned, we were posted to Fort Riley, KA..
There were still Wehrmacht POWs there, who were amused at seeing us kids playing war with their equipment. :)

Yep...the best conspiracies are the ones that, on the surface, look stupid, but once you examine them more closely, you find they are even stupider. Who would believe you could pull off such a plan, except for stupid people. And who's going to listen to them?
