JFK assassination debate

That was an interesting debate discussing a lot of claims I haven't heard before. I think John McAdams won on just about every point. Anyone know of any other kind of recent JFK debate?

I think Rossley does not understand the difference between "there were no echoes" and no one I talked to reported hearing echoes". His undying faith in paraffin tests is rather sad. He spouts off about how reliable they are and brags of his law enforcement contacts, but can not give up any names or other data.

He interrupts too much also; a sign of a debater with weak support for their position. He claims that Marina Oswald told him that her husband was innocent. Rossley is unwilling to give us any quotes from her to support his stance.

He claims that Marina Oswald does not know how to operate a camera. He must think she is a real idiot.

Oswald was a lousy shot claims Rossley. Maybe true, but a person can be a lousy shot and still hit a man from less than 100 yards away. Rossley says the two stage trigger means you have to pull the trigger twice to make it fire. A two stage trigger is one that has a very small notch in the hammer that the sear catches on to reduce creep to a minimum and enhance accuracy. Whether or not the typical Carcano has one does not make a difference. Mine does not have one and it is far too inaccurate to benefit from it. Claims bench testing means the rifle is bolted down or in a vise. Not true, just means it was shot from a stable sitting position with the rifle resting on the shooting bench. Rossley claims it took over 2 seconds to cycle the Carcano bolt. Really stupid claim. Rossley cries about the debate allowing assumptions, but makes plenty of his own.

Macadams correctly states that the scope was not mounted for a left handed shooter. Rossley demonstrates he is too incompetent to make any reasonable claims about firearms. Rossley believes the Warren commission when it supports his claims, and also believes other “evidence” that contradicts the Warren commission when it supports his claims.

Rossley claims nobody saw the Zapruder film for 12 years, not true. I made it through part three. Rossley is getting clubbed like a baby seal.

Isn't the Zapruder film footage taken by a film afficionado the day Kennedy got shot?

Yes it was. It was not widely available for public viewing for years though as far as I know.

Stills from the Z-film were published in LIFE magazine immediately after the shooting.
A copy of the film was illicitly obtained by a researcher in the National Archives, and widely distributed.
The film has been officially released on a DVD, available I believe from JFK Lancer, along with a DVD of the Warren Commission Report and all the official evidence.

Good job it wasn't the casing, just think how much more damage this bullet might have caused had it been fired..

But in 25mph gusts at a moving target? And with a junky old Italian rifle? Come on!

25 mph gusts? This is a new claim for me. Evidence? The target was moving slowing away at a small angle. According on my calculations, Oswald only needed to aim at the front part of the head to ensure a hit on center based on target velocity, bullet speed and BC. I have a junky old Carcano, it is up to the task. Why do you think it isn't?

Some old boy in a cowboy hat claims to have found a round used in fancy CIA rifles after the Korean War on the Dallas Admin. Bldg roof about a month ago.

Good comedy. How did you keep a straight face for so long? :) I really want to know.

The Ordnance Optics scope (I have that scope) is mounted to the left so that the user of the rifle can put the friggin' bullets in the friggin' gun!
Without the bullets in the clip, it is a single shot rifle.
The iron sights are right there, ready to use, and will put the bullet into the target at 300 meters, when the user aims at the belt-buckle of the target.
The number of CTwits that don't know and can't understand this never ceases to amaze me.

I think I saw that on some video on YouTube. I can't confirm it, but it was windy the day I did the video. I'd say gusts of 15mph and that's calm for Dallas - especially that time of year. Wouldn't you say 20 mph gusts would have an impact on accuracy?
