Actually, the Romans did a fair bit to help the poor without Jesus' help. Hell, some of their aqueducts in the area are still in use today.

Jesus, if he even existed as portrayed in the Bible, was not a polititian and would not have had the ability to do any of those things if he wanted to do. He also lived in a time where they did not even have the capability or even the concept of programs like food stamps or universal health care. Heck, they didn't even have health care, period.

I volunteer and care for the sick and needy with non government sponsored programs.

I have been unemployed but never received an unemployment paycheck.

I am not a conservative. Therefor, your contention that those who do these things are conservative is false.

If free, then the man is not a slave, if bonded, then that computes with servant as an indentured servant, not a slave.
