Merged Jesse Ventura to host new conspiracy theory TV show

Court/Tru TV has just made my official "no way am I watchng this crap" list.
It's like a who who's of Truther wackjobs.
No wonder Arnie has severed relations with his old buddy Jesse.

I guess there is no way this channel can survive without the support of the "critical thinking skeptic" element that you so boldly, and prominantly represent here on JREF....They are DOOMED!! Thanks for sharing.

Someone should make a tv show called ' Have i got woo for you' and get these conspiracy loons on to explain their woo and then have panellists rip them apart for a laugh.

The only problem with such a show would be that only the couple hundred twits that live here on the JREF debunking network even know what "woo" is. That wouldn't be a very big target audience to kick off a show, although I'm sure you wooers are all big spenders. There are no debunkers in real life, only on the internet. Thanks.

I have a strong reluctance to watching Alex Jones on TV, but I'm curious as to whether Ventura still rocks back and forth in his seat when he gets fired up. Mind you, I doubt Jonesy is going to ask him any tough questions.

I actually voted for Kinky Friedman in the last election for Texas Governor. I figured he couldn't be any worse than then the normal fare. When asked what his stance was on gay marriage...he pulled the cigar from his mouth and reponded "I'm all for it..I believe they have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us."

I was talking with one of my co-workers, who is a staunch conservative, and asked what he tought about it. He said, "I'm all for it. I've been divorced three times. Be careful what you wish for you may just get it."

By "unknowns," I mean that we are only given his assistants' first names and not told any of their qualifications for investigating conspiracies. Nothing screams "actor" quite like these qualities. So how real does that make this reality? Not very.

Another problem of the show is that the music, cuts, and general cinematography are about as subtle as World War II. The show hits the viewer over the head with loosely related facts that are spliced side-by-side as if it all must logically fit. It's the video version of The National Enquirer, or possibly Fox News. If The Onion were behind this program, there likely wouldn't be that much of a difference. This program in no way could be confused with high art.

FWIW, last night Jesse was the best guest host on Monday Night RAW they've had so far. The fact everything on a scripted show seemed like a conspiracy to him only made it funnier.

I've been wanting to see a skeptic show on the air for years. Where you challenge the "experts" to debates and pwn them on live tv.

If you tune into Conspiracy Theory expecting to find answers... well, you've got to be kidding me. However, if you want to find something to mull over and have an imaginative session of "What if..." thinking, there's certainly fuel here for that. Unfortunately, the series suffers from Ventura's heavy-handed bravado, as he sounds more like he's preparing to jump into the ring again rather than actually investigate stories, often blustering and bristling with machismo that ultimately doesn't gain him anything. (Now if he'd successfully bullied his way onto the [HAARP] facility, then I might have been impressed.)

On "Conspiracy Theory," you investigate secret societies and supposed government coverups. Such theories are everywhere, but really, what big conspiracy has ever been proven?

How can you prove it? That's the point. The better part would be to ask, "How many of the government's points have ever been proven?" I find what's most interesting about doing this show is how the government will not participate or allow you in or answer any questions. We're not allowed to question our government.

But you're allowed to have this program, which is more than could be said about many countries.

We're not on the air yet, are we? I never believe anything in the world of entertainment until it actually happens and the check clears the bank. I've had a gentleman's bet with my crew that these shows would never air.

Originally, the show was going to show both sides of the conspiracy. But the show then evolved while we were doing it, because it's very difficult to show both sides when one side won't cooperate at all.

Then how can you be sure the side that does cooperate isn't just a bunch of crackpots?

I'm not sure. But how can I be sure the government's not?

I saw a commercial for this, and I was astounded when Jesse says that he was a Governor and high government official and therefore privy to much private information.. information that he feels should be shared with everyone.

What a ********ter. He's appealing to authority (his own), and taking advantage of the position he was in to further spread lies. No Jesse, you weren't privy to any secret info, especially not as the governor of Minnesota.

What a jackass.
