Jenny McCarthy: Indigo Mom.

The only thing you need to say to completely delegitimize McCarthy's pro-disease movement is to remind people she believes in the indigo thing.

Anyone see the Wikipedia warning on the Indigo.com site?
The whole idea of on on-line (sic) encyclopedia is actually a very good one, for the concept is that a collective informational base would always be better than even the best expert. That's what WIKIPEDIA is. It's an idea that has merit, in that there are many people who know a whole lot about things that others wouldn't know. The whole enclyclopedia (sic) is interactive, in that anyone can make changes to hopefully facilitate a greater knowledge-base for the planet. I celebrate the courage of those who have put this very popular website together.

Unfortunately the implementation of the editing process is filled with flaws. There is no way to verify the edits.

What do they mean by "no way to verify the edits?" Every single edit is logged, no? I guess they mean, no way to verify the veracity of contributions?

In addition, if you are a knowledgeable person with good factual changes, others might have a bias that then erases the changes and creates an "editing war" of ideas.

If only they had some sort of policy that called for a neutral POV...

It would be great if Wikipedia had some kind of place where you could go to be validated as an expert, or an author, or to be checked out, but they don't.

But, but, what about: "The whole idea of on on-line (sic) encyclopedia is actually a very good one, for the concept is that a collective informational base would always be better than even the best expert." And who would be considered an "expert?" Neurologists? Scientists? Anyone who authored an Indigo book? Jenny McCarthy?

The Indigo Children are a main-stream issue.

What's with all they hyphens on this page?

In fact, auras have nothing whatsoever to do with Indigo Children.

I guess these books about Indigo kids are wrong. And this NYT article:
Indigo children were first described in the 1970's by a San Diego parapsychologist, Nancy Ann Tappe, who noticed the emergence of children with an indigo aura, a vibrational color she had never seen before. This color, she reasoned, coincided with a new consciousness.

ironically, my work's website blocker does not allow me to goto the indigomoms site because it is "in the Phising and Fraud" category. Heh.
