Criminal career[edit]
Atkinson moved to Bangkok, Thailand in the mid-1960s and became a partner in Jack's American Star Bar. In 1968, he entered into the drug trade from the Golden Triangle through a Chinese Thai man named Luchai Rubiwat, who was a business partner in Atkinson's bar.[citation needed] Atkinson and his organization bought heroin at about US$4000 a kilogram before being cut four ways and transporting it to the United States by military personnel. Flown on US Air Force aircraft, the heroin would eventually arrive at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and other military bases and be sold to American distributors for US$25,000 a quarter kilo, netting a profit of about US$96,000 per kilo.

Atkinson's downfall came in 1975. A shipment of heroin was due to arrive at two addresses in Fayetteville, North Carolina, each belonging to elderly black women.[1] An Army serviceman would come to pick up the shipments, saying it had been accidentally mailed to the wrong address. The plan had worked before, but this time one woman contacted the postal authorities; the other, fearing she had been sent a bomb, contacted the police. The police found Atkinson's palm prints on one of the heroin bags, and he was arrested on January 19, 1975 in his home in Goldsboro. He was convicted the following year and was sentenced to 31 years in prison. Atkinson was released in 2007.

oh and henri - when are you going to understand that Prince Beasley, however good or bad a cop he may have been, by the time of this case was already a sick man. he was failing to take notes of his actions, filed incomplete paperwork, and although superiors were apparently not yet aware of it, he was beginning to show other signs that his mind was going. He had inorganic brain disease and all of the quotes and "miraculous" accounts he gave after 1970 are useless......it isn't that hard to understand, he was ill, he confabulated (lied without intention to deceive but lied nonetheless) and he is not now nor was he then credible.

I have never read that book but Detective Beasley was a front line police officer who understood what was going on, unlike the 4th Circuit judges and the Supreme Court, and the corporate media which never reports controversy..

This is what Sam has said about the matter in the past. Sam seems to have inside information:

1st Bolded: Translation - I agree what he says, therefor it's true.

When you get around to posting actual fact v your opinion and the opinion of other unknown individuals you might be able to make a point. Until then, you're batting -0-

2nd Bolded: see above - who's Sam and why should anyone pay attention to his/her opinion?

There is more background information to this drug smuggling business at:

Frank Lucas was a criminal who had individuals working in his organization that were serving members of the Air Force.

That has nothing to do with JM's murder of his family and nothing to do with allegations of intelligence services trafficking drugs.

OOOH, PICK ME, PICK ME!

Sam is the dog of David Berkowitz' neighbor. He tells people to kill. So he would know. (Did not know Sam could type, though.)

You Can't Escape

HENRIBOY: The irony of your obsession with Mazzerolle is that no other MacDonald advocate shares your fantasy narrative. Gunderson, Bost, Silverglate and a host of other advocates admitted that Mazzerolle was in jail on 2/17/70. This collective opinion was based on the correctional records, Mazzerolle's firm denials of involvement in this crime and the FACT that no trace evidence collected at the crime scene was sourced to Mazzerolle.

It's important to note that when given the opportunity to DNA test exemplars from the "Stoeckley Gang," inmate's defense team only requested exemplars from Stoeckley and Mitchell be tested by the AFIP. Hmmm, what does that tell ya? The defense had access to hair exemplars from Cathy Perry and Harris, Smith, Fowler and yes, Mazzerolle were alive when DNA testing protocol was being formulated.

The fact that the defense only requested exemplars from two members of the Stoeckley Seven, speaks to the defense team's lack of confidence that Perry, Harris, Smith, Fowler and yes, Mazzerolle had any involvement in this horrific crime. Heck, the defense never even attempted to contact Perry, Harris, Smith, Fowler and yes, Mazzerolle for permission to provide DNA samples to the AFIP.

It took several months for you to admit that no lab documentation exists that sources a known intruder suspect to this crime, yet you now hide behind your old chestnut regarding the lack of a "proper" investigation. Like always, you fail to provide documentation that backs your dubious assertions. Since there is NO chance that you will suddenly embrace critical thought, I challenge you to provide documentation that proves that the CID and FBI did not investigate ALL of the viable intruder suspects in this case.

Considering the depth and scope of the CID's 4 year reinvestigation and the FBI's 3 year investigation into suspects not named Jeffrey MacDonald, I would wager it's going to take another several months before you admit that you cannot come up with the goods.

Salud!

How could I have missed that!

It's even more pithy given the fact that some of Henri's source have as much credibility as a barking dog.

This may be a laughing matter for you, but it's a serious matter for Jeff MacDonald, who has had to endure all the quite ludicrously unsatisfactory evidence against him, and all the expense and anxiety of it.

The CIA have been involved in drug smuggling and protecting drug dealers like Mazerolle for decades, and that includes at Fort Bragg. MacDonald was stepping on their toes.

There is a bit of background information to all this at a Google website headed 'Overwhelming evidence that the CIA is smuggling drugs for decades'. This is part of it:

President Obama later denied that he had any knowledge of the program.

Niebla’s assertion that he smuggled drugs from Mexico into the United States while working for the U.S. government adds further weight to the already voluminous body of evidence that confirms the CIA and U.S. banking giants are the top players in a global drug trade worth hundreds of billions of dollars a year, information made public by the likes of Gary Webb, who it was claimed committed suicide in 2004 despite the fact that he was found with two gunshot wounds to the head and after Webb himself had complained of death threats and “government people” stalking his home.

For more background information on the story, be sure to read Bill Conroy’s excellent article over at Narco News entitled Mexican Narco-Trafficker’s Revelation Exposes Drug War’s Duplicity.

Overwhelming Evidence That the CIA is Smuggling Drugs for Decades

by Alexander Light, HumansAreFree.com

II. Head of DEA: "CIA are drug smugglers"!

The head of the DEA at the time, Judge Robert Bonner accused the CIA of being drug smugglers .

Reporter:
"A ton of cocaine was smuggled into the United States of America by the Venezuelan National Guard, in cooperation with the CIA?"
Judge Robert Bonner, Head of DEA:
"That's exactly what appears to have happened."
The estimated worth of a ton of pure cocaine was at the time, hundreds of millions of dollars.

III. Undercover DEA agent Michael Levine

Undercover DEA agent Michael Levine (author of NY Times non-fiction bestseller "The Deep Cover Operation That Exposed the CIA Sabotage of the Drug War") had been co-opted by the CIA in South-East Asia. Levine testified that for more than 30 years, the Federal Government had protected some drug dealers.

During the Nixon administration, Levine was about to bust a major source of heroin:
"I was stopped (...) because that source were our allies in the Vietnam war," said DEA agent Michael Levine.
Levine also stated that this was not an isolated incident, and that it happened many times in his 25 year career.

henri - inmate is guilty. we all KNOW he is guilty. we all KNOW that Allen Mazzerole was in jail the night of the murders. we all KNOW that Helena Stoeckley was not involved in the murders. we all KNOW the CID and FBI did a thorough job of investigating this case. we all KNOW that some errors were made BUT inmate was not convicted due to the errors AND NO CASE IS PERFECT. we all KNOW you are stuck on "points of argument" that even the defense has long since admitted were BS. So either back up your ridiculous comments with certifiable verifiable documentation rather than no name untraced internet crap or go away.

Really?

Any evidence or is this another fact free posting on your part?

Why is the google website credible?

Quite apart from the fact that this op would be conducted by the FBI within the USA borders, had MacDonald been "stepping on their toes", this thread would be about whether or not that auto accident that killed CPT MacDonald was a put-up job or did the doctors at WOMACK finish him off. To believe that any government agency would spend the amount of money spent on the MacDonald investigation/re-investigation/grand jury/trials/appeals requires a suspension of disbelief that would allow one to confuse "Howard the Duck" for "Citizen Kane".

Sam the dog makes more sense. (Which explains why Henri brought him up.)

You don't have any practical knowledge of CIA drug smuggling and corruption and bugging, and torture and murders, or of FBI incompetence, and FBI made up evidence, or of biased judges. It's deliberately unreported by the mainstream corporate media, who have a close connection with the police and CIA. <snip> For Jeff MacDonald to spend the rest of his life in prison means that the real culprits, like Mazerolle and his pals, are safe and protected. There might have been a complete investigation if MacDonald had died at the time.

This is what somebody with practical knowledge has said about the matter in the past, and it makes sense to me:

Michael wrote:

What I see in all of this is people who are responding to attacks and conjecture. I've yet to read any ones post who has a morsel of experience with anything on the case.

I hate reliving those days, but I lived right around the corner from both PE Beasley and Robert Cevarly. I also knew the word on the street.

I put this into context with the fact that MacDonald refused to treat heroin addicts from the army psychological(PSYOPS) warfare units at Bragg and also did significant damage to the CIDs heroin smuggling operation from Cambodia to Pope AFB.

I also remember the blaring news reports coming over the airways every half hour designed only to show MacDonald's guilt. I now realize that those reports were due to PSYOPS involvement.

You Can Run, But You Can't Hide

HENRIBOY: For months, you ran and hid from my challenge (e.g., produce a lab document sourcing intruder suspect to the crime scene), before finally admitting that no such document exists. You've taken a similar approach to my recent challenge (e.g., provide documentation that proves that the CID and FBI did not investigate ALL of the viable intruder suspects in this case), but I'll remind you that I will not let you off the hook.

Let's talk turkey, your conspiracy narratives are worthless and your lone interest in posting on this forum is to fan the flames. You have no real interest in the truth or engaging in a constructive dialogue about this case. The good news is that your boy will be spending the rest of his miserable life in a Cumberland jail cell.

Me again, with facts:
You have no idea what my practical knowledge includes.

You again, with random internet posters. No facts, just ramblings from people whose names you do not even know, but they fit in with your "ideas" about the case, so you embrace them.

Me again, with facts:
You have nothing to substantiate your claim that "Michael" has "practical knowledge" of any sort.

Come on, surprise us. Answer JTF's query.

There are biased judges in America, and not just politically or racially biased judges. You decide according to the evidence without fear or favor. There used to be a rumor on the internet that Judge Dupree made a large payment deposit into his bank account after the MacDonald trial had been completed. Judge Fox was a pal of Judge Dupree and he attended Dupree's funeral. The 4th Circuit judges need to pull up their socks. There needs to be judges with practical experience of being a criminal defense attorney at the Supreme Court. The MacDonald trial was the wrong verdict, and so were the MacDonald appeals.

The matter is mentioned at this website:

Cases Repeatedly Decided In Favor of U.S. Government

Adapted from an article by Pat Shannan, Editor http://www.iniworldreport.com/

Those of us who attempt to keep ourselves aware of on-going litigation in the nation’s highest courts are frequently amazed at the obvious bias exhibited by the presiding judges in favor of the prosecution.

Federal statutes show how and why U.S. law encourages judicial conflicts of interest, non-neutrality, non-impartiality and corruption of justice in the federal courts. One need simply read United States Title 5, Chapter 45, Subchapter 1, page 2 to understand how our U.S. Government encourages
judges to find in its favor.

How can the federal judiciary be independent and impartial when the law permits the federal government to secretly award judges up to $25,000 in undisclosed secret “cash awards,” and to privately, secretly and erroneously overpay them up to $10,000, then waive these erroneous overpayments?
How can any defendant be found innocent or guilty beyond a reasonable doubt when such statutory cash award provisions create an incentive for these judges to find for the prosecution? These questions and others will be answered by the U.S. District Court in Portland, Oregon following a lawsuit naming multiple defendants in the Department of Justice including Judge Anna J. Brown, who presided over a trial of “conspiracy to impede the IRS” last November.

In that case, defendant Roy Bendshadler’s attorney Nancy Bergeson had complained of suspected jury tampering and was found strangled to death in her Portland home the next day. Her cause of death was at first passed off as natural causes until a second medical examiner changed it to homicide. The murder is unsolved.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch......

I'm hoping the 4th circuit puts an end to the longest-litigated federal murder trial in the USA and slams the door (figuratively) once and for all on the convicted, remorseless murderer of Colette, Kimberley, and Kristen - and the unborn child Colette was carrying. And that would be: Jeffrey MacDonald, Colette's faithless, cheating husband and the father of her three children.

A rumor. An internet rumor. Well, it must be true then.

Really, Henri? REALLY? It seems you will grasp any straw, any time, to try and support your crusade. It doesn't work. Truth, not rumor prevails.

And the truth is that Jeffrey MacDonald murdered his wife and babies.

And the truth is that Jeffrey MacDonald murdered his wife and babies.

The point is that the Supreme Court is the final court of appeal and it is most important that they get it right. None of those Supreme Court justices have practical experience of being a criminal defense attorney, or of weighing the evidence against an innocent man, or of investigating the real culprits. They are in bed with the prosecution, just like the 4th Circuit judges and Judge Fox.

The evidence against Jeff MacDonald is thin to say the least. It's basically Stombaugh of the FBI only said it could be, and the same with the threads. Colette was supposed to have murdered one of the little girls, and hit MacDonald with a hairbrush, and Helena Stoeckley was supposed to be a poor befuddled creature, and Detective Beasley and Gunderson were supposed to be off their heads. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.
