Video: James Madison Impersonator

James Madison - Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rReS6uA-C_A&feature=related

The above is part 1 of a video of a James Madison Impersonator (JMI) shot in July, 2008.

The JMI is about the same height and weight of James Madison and bears a striking resemblance to him. The JMI was born in 1951, and hence, is exactly 200 years younger than James Madison. The JMI is a professional; he makes his living by traveling around the nation and appearing as James Madison to groups, colleges, etc.

The JMI prepares for his character by reading the vast correspondence to and from James Madison each day from exactly 200 years prior. The JMI reads the newspaper each day from exactly 200 years prior, just as James Madison would have done.

So, for example, today he is reading all the newspapers from January 7, 1810.

The JMI impersonator was once asked about the War of 1812.

He replied; "That hasn't happened yet."

Since the video hear was shot in July, 2008, the JMI is speaking about what was going on in July, 1808. At that time, it was just prior to the election that would make James Madison the Fourth President of the United States. At that time, James Madison was the Secretary of State under President Thomas Jefferson.

Please enjoy the videos.

James Madison on the Pelosi & Reid Health Care Reform Bills

James Madison on the Pelosi & Reid Health Care Reform Bills

"It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood."

~ James Madison, Father of the Constitution

Galileo, did Madison have anything to say on other very large bills? Like the Medicare Act of 2003 or the Energy Bill of 2005?

Or were his precognitive comments strictly on the healthcare reform bills of the current Congress?

you figure it out.

Well I recently conjured James Madison from my bowl of cereal, and he says that the current health care bill is the "bee's knees." I don't really know why he used that language, but I do know that he is a fan of Jersey Shore and as such his opinions on current legislation should be ignored.

Who's your baby?
Who's your buddy?
Who's your man?

*Monty Python Voice*

I think shouting is wonderful!

Regardless of what Madison wrote, back in the day they didn't have microphones. It is thus likely that when he addressed Congress or made a speech, he raised his voice considerably, and possibly even shouted to be heard.

It is not out of context to portray Madison's words, spoken, in a shouted or loud form.

For a contemporary and contextual example, Patrick Henry did not say the following sotto voce:

I know not what course others may take, but as for me,

Give me Liberty or Give Me Death!

Just sayin'
