Mozart and Jackson both had substance abuse problems which in the end probably killed them; but other then that any comparasions are batcrap crazy.
I liked a lot of Jackson's music, but comparing him to Mozart is the kind of BS one would expect from the mouth of Al The Liar Sharpton.
There are people on Earth I despise more then Sharpton, but they are in the Osama/Ahmadijenne/Mugabe class.

i think you downplay MJ's influence a bit to much. i think he did indeed influence the pop music, and not only the music, expecially the dancing, solo but also in groups. His Choreography did indeed influence modern dance.
he was a great entertainer. Sure Mozart may be a bit a to high comparison, but in some posts you seem to think he didnt have any real influence.

I guess this all depends on one's definition of "suicide" which I think of as intentional and for the most part immediate. Sure, self-destructive behavior is often called "suicidal," but that's more of a colloquialism. I don't know if there are differing legal and medical definitions of suicide. Personally, I think Michael Jackson's refusal to take care of his health flies in the face of his professed love for his children, his family, and his fans. He had to realize that if he kept going on the way he did, he wasn't going to live much longer.
