Jacinda Ardern

Then why were you specifically citing them as supporting Arden? Am I to take it that you just liked the sound of their names? :boggled:

They're on opposite sides of the world, the religious divide, and potentially democracy. I'd already slagged off Erdogan for politicising the attack about ten pages ago.

If you prefer, take a look at China. Three weeks ago, Xi had turned down meeting with Jacinda, but since the massacre he's taken a much friendlier tone and met with her yesterday.

People who actually matter have taken heed of her international status.

It's time I added my two cents. With all the chaos going on in some of the major free world countries, she is somebody who is showing the way on how to actually lead, and seems to have pretty much the entire population of New Zealand following her, and getting admiration from all over the place outside of mysoginists.

A great example as to how to actually be a leader and act like a leader should, and still can if you do it right and don't use a cost/benefit analysis to decide whether what they say will win or lose votes, or think they are never wrong and the sun shines out of their arse.

Ok - I'll give you that they are from countries distant to New Zealand, but in this day and age that means nothing.
Please explain how you position my Prime Minister - Justin Trudeau - as opposite "the religious divide, and potentially democracy" of Jacinda Ardern and New Zealand.

No one has tried to explain how wearing a hijab is "leading." It's the exact opposite of "leading." It's kowtowing to a foreign population and betraying her constituents.

It's showing respect to her fellow New Zealanders (you do know that the murdered people were from new Zealand, don't you?) and her fellow human beings around the world.

Only 1.2% of New Zealanders are Muslim so I don't see how that's showing respect to the 98.8% non-Muslim citizens. It also shows that she values the religion of a small minority over others including the religions of the indigenous Maori people.

What is your criteria? Only show respect when the massacre involves a group representing 20% of the population? Show me your work.

On second thoughts, don’t bother. It will be ridiculous.

My criterion is to not parade around like a circus clown. Something skeptics seem to be quite fond of, whether it's this nobody or that freak Justin Trudeau.

You call it "showing respect." The rest of the world calls it embarrassing.

No, it shows that she respects all New Zealanders regardless of race, creed or colour.

It isn't disrespectful to the 98%.

Awwwwe, bless your heart.

It is a show of unity with a group of people who have just been the subject of a horrific terrorist attack. This occuring in a country where gun massacres are not a repeated event to be responded to by thoughts and prayers.

I think your views on Jacinda Ardern are incredibly daft and you're being taken in by media propaganda

And you would be wrong. Media propaganda has nothing to do with my views. Just huge respect for people like Jacinta, especially those who take on heavy responsibilities, and could rise above the sewer of prejudice when her Country needed her to.

In many ways she is just a decent ordinary caring person. The kind of person that doesn’t seem to be drawn to politics or maybe not the kind that rise to the top.

He's a pretty boy who got elected on his looks and his surname. Looked good at the start, but has been pretty weak to date, and seems to have a bit of a corruption problem going on.

Regarding his religion, I wouldn't know and certainly don't care, but Canada is still a predominantly christian nation, which is the opposite of Turkey.

This is one of those times when I wish I used emojis, although I don't think one exists to cover how absurdly funny I find someone using Express as an attempt at evidence.

Very astute observation from half a world away. I voted for the dude last time. I now know better. He's a lightweight politically.

Tyrant. Acts like people are slaves and she is their master. Just like the slave master, she determines what the chattel may and may not read.

It's always refreshing to see what someone so absolutely orthogonal to decency thinks.

Well there's this:

:dl:

A "lioness." Oh dear how far this place has fallen.

What you people don't understand is the leader of New Zealand can afford to parade around in a hijab while breastfeeding. She's the leader of small island nation no one cares about.

Had there been a Mosque attack in the US and Hilary Clinton had been president and paraded around in a hijab, that'd be considered the Western world's unconditional surrender to Muslims. (Though I don't think Hilary would've been that bad of a president.) The consequences for the leader of the world's sole superpower are far reaching, while leaders of ****** island nations can parade around like circus clowns.

I suppose she can't be accused of being childless.
