Concern about what? You're talking about a dictatorial power grab that is not happening, and that could not happen under the American system of government. I'd get concerned long before Ivanka became chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff--if your idea of what's going on were at all accurate or realistic.

The record shows that thaiboxerken brought up dictatatorial power grabs, and you requested to be informed when Ivanka is appointed chair of the Joint Chiefs.

I'm just an appalled bystander. Aquaintances started posing to me the question "What the hell is going on??", way back when a Trump presidency was nothing but a gleam in a Trumpkin's crazed eye.

I had no idea what was going on. Where I live, the nazi mentality has run deep for as long as I can remember. I thought things were just running par for the course.

I thought the latent naziism was what the What-the-hell-is-going-on-ers were talking about. They'd bring up Trump, and I'd just tell them Trump is just a half-crazed demagogue who is appealing to the little hotsy-totsy nazi that lives deep inside us all. "He'll blow over", I'd say.

At that time I had no idea there was any chance Trump would become president. The first time I saw him in a Republican primary debate, my first thought was "That SOB is nuts". I thought Cruz was the real threat to America. And Hannity, of course. And Alex Jones, et cetera.

Oh well. You could get lucky again. Luck isn't something that gets used up. It just runs out unpredictably.

The last Republican administration left two quagmires, staggering debt, a collapsed stock market, and a collapsed economy, but you came out of that smelling like a rose 8 years later, imbued with enough confidence to go all in on Trump.

I can see where the false confidence comes from. Anyone with some investment capital could have gotten stinking rich off the 140% stock market surge during the Obama administration. And you've always been lucky. You wouldn't even exist if you hadn't been lucky.

I hope that clears things up. I really hope y'all stay lucky. I need y'all to stay lucky. I just don't really think y'all know what the **** you're doing.

The reason seems pretty simple to me: An executive should have the freedom to choose advisors she/he/it trusts. Through the years, the practice has been to choose staff members who are perceived to be competent, so attempting to legislate limits hasn't been considered a priority...and I'm sure the ****-spewing hellbeast currently occupying the Oval Office would claim that its appointments are supremely capable.
