It's time for a Marco Rubio thread?

I feel like this thread was started just in time to no longer be needed.

He's far from done. His nemesis Christie is gone, pretty much only Cruz is to his right. (The Donald is just The Donald, not left, right, or center.) Kasich is probably a flash in the pan, Bush is Low Energy. (Or so someone said.) I still think Rubio will be the nominee. If the evangelicals can mostly hold their noses and vote for a Mormon, they can vote for a Catholic.

This is the one thing I don't understand about politicians. When they get into just repeating the memorized stump speech it's such a turn off. I've even had lunch with local politicians and you try to have a conversation and all they do is parrot their lines.

Yes, and even Bernie Sanders does it. It's just annoying. Where's the spontaneity?

If you memorize your speech you won't get caught saying something completely wrong off-the-cuff. But Donald Trump, who is pretty much entirely off-the-cuff, has been caught repeatedly and nothing seems to stick. He's the new Teflon Don.

Looks like Rubio's next ad for America features the iconic American city of Vancouver.

Porn stars in Cruz ads, foreign cities in Rubio's ad...

These people are just flat out stupid.

That ad was terrible, even without stock footage mistakes. Gods and monsters, it's full of fail.

Reagan used his "Morning" adds to court whatever optimism was left in America after Nixon, Carter, stagflation, Iran and OPEC stomped it out of us. Rubio spends the entire ad building his case why Obama's America is awful, and keeps repeating the "morning" line as if a threat. It's morning, time to get up!

I think I'll wake the rocket boys up with this ad today. :D

Here's the Reagan ad.

I really recommend watching them both. The original was an exemplary bit of political art. The shot-by-shot perversion of Reagan's ad really fascinates me. Is that the only sell Team Rubio can manage? Is that his best angle? He hasn't told us anything about what he has done or could do to improve things other than being not-them.

Thanks. The contrast does expose how little these guys learned from Reagan.

If the Republican Party even exists this time next year, it'll be a bit of a surprise. Of course, that's pretty much wishful thinking on my part, but they seem to be doing all they can to self-destruct.

I was amused to discover that Rubio's "Morning Again" video ad actually showed Vancouver.
Does anyone actually check these little details?
